18.01.2022 To live is to compensate... Once our body's ability to compensate has been used up symptoms will appear. It isn't until we can no longer compensate for our str...esses that we start to get sensations of discomfort and pain. Each of us have developed a series of patterns and restrictions based on our activities to which the body has accommodated but no longer can compensate for May it be emotional patterns, physical patterns, neurological patterns it's all stored in our body through the year a So the question is what your history??? 07.01.2022 TWO-THIRDS OF HERNIATED DISCS HEAL ON THEIR OWN! - RESULTS FROM A RECENT META-ANALYSIS Too many people think that once you have a disc herniation (or disc bulge...), that you’ve got it for life Well, a recent meta-analysis (Zhong et al., 2017) has shown that 2/3 of disc bulges spontaneously heal on their own! Many of them within a few months too. Conclusion from the paper: Because the overall incidence of disc de-herniation is now 66.66% according to our results, conservative treatment may become the first choice of treatment for LDH. Even though discs sometimes herniate, this does NOT mean they 'slip'. Jarod Hall has written a great blog on what actually does happen and how to deal with it. Read it here https://www.physio-network.com/discs-dont-slip-dammit/

04.01.2022 This is the world’s first ever magnetic resonance image showing a mother and child’s bond. The image is of neuroscientist Rebecca Saxe kissing her two month ol...d son. The child’s brain appears to be smoother and darker. This is because it has significantly less white matter. White matter is comprised of myelin, which is fatty tissue that acts as insulation for the wires that communicate messages inside your brain. The activations in the image do not refer to the act of kissing but to the organisation of functional activity in infant brains when viewing meaningful images. Kissing causes a chemical reaction in your brain, including a burst of the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin is often referred to as the ‘love hormone’ because it stirs up feelings of affection and attachment. Kissing activates the brain’s reward system; releasing dopamine which makes us feel good. It also releases vasopressin which bonds mothers with babies and romantic partners to each other. It also releases serotonin which helps to regulate our mood. #nhneurotraining #love #neuroscience #neuro
