23.01.2022 Castra Falls Circuit Nikon D 7000 Camera ND Filter Sigma 10 - 20 mm Silvers Falls & Castra Falls... Castra Falls is the second waterfall on a walking circuit known as the Castra Circuit, home to 3 other waterfalls; Silver Falls, Step Falls, and Secret Place. The track is commenced as an easy to moderate walk, progressively becoming more difficult the further you walk. The track, however, has been well maintained by volunteers, and have done an excellent job in marking the track with ribbons, pointers, and signs, to guide people along to the correct places. What is striking about the walk is the sheer number of fallen trees throughout the circuit. Even though the circuit is in excellent condition, and is very well maintained, It does leave you wondering how stable the ground is, and how likely is it for more to fall around you. Fears aside, on a good day, the small hike is a picturesque one, with many photographic opportunities for you to enjoy. As you near Castra Falls, signs will give you an option to view the Castra Cascades, which will require you to venture down a steep bank to the rivulet below. Continuing along the track a short distance will lead you to another makeshift sign guiding you down to Castra Falls. The track down to the falls from this point is incredibly steep, hazardous, and slippery, and we're thankful to the people who have installed rope rails to use to support yourself down to the base of Castra Falls, as well as to help pull you back up again (it really is that steep). Once at the base of the falls, you will see a single drop waterfall of about 10 metres in height, with a series of small cascade behind them. The flow of water drops into a pool, that is surrounded by a steep small cliffs.
23.01.2022 Dip Falls Nikon D7000 Camera ND Filter Sigma 10-20mm Lense It's easy to overlook, but Dip Falls is one of the most beautiful in the state. It's two-tiered structure and unique rock formations make it well worth a visit.... From the parking area next to the falls in the Dip Falls Reserve, it's a short walk to a platform with an unsurpassed view out over the top of the falls. Another path leads down some steps to the base of the falls and its unique rock formations. Like other waterfalls, Dip Falls is at its most impressive after rain and is best viewed in winter. From the car park you can also walk 5 min to the Big Tree in the Big Tree Reserve. The circumference of the tree at its base is nearly 17 m and definitely worth a look if you're here. Dip Falls is between Stanley and Wynyard in Tasmania's North West, 27 km up a quiet and mostly sealed road that passes through pleasant countryside. Both the falls and Big Tree Reserve are suitable for disabled access. BBQ facilities and toilets are provided. See more

22.01.2022 Old House Creek Falls With Fiance Located within 50 metres from the Western side of Lake Rowallan, Old House Creek Falls is the unofficial name of the waterfall that plummets on Old House Creek. The waterfall has two distinct tiers and has a combine height of approximately 20 metres. ACCESS TO OLD HOUSE CREEK FALLS - 4WD ONLY Access to the waterfall is along West Rowallan Track, a relatively rough 4WD track that branches off Mersey Forest Road on the northern end of Lake Row...allan. You would need to drive about 7 kms along the track that has sections that are only suitable for 4WD vehicles with good clearance underneath them. For hikers, it may also be possible to hike into Old House Creek Falls via the Lees Paddocks Track by walking along the Mersey River in a north-easterly direction until it enters into Lake Rowallan. However, this has not been confirmed as yet. See more

18.01.2022 Redwater Falls Pics I Took - 10-6-2020 Nikon D7000 Camera ND Filter Sigma 10-20 mm Lense... Situated on Redwater Creek, Redwater Creek Falls is a small waterfall that comes to life after heavy rains. Being a seasonal waterfall, which is typical for creeks, Redwater Creek Falls can often have little to no water flowing. Access to the waterfall is along a section of the Tasmania trail, adjacent to Redwater Creek, between Railton and Sheffield. Access to the Tasmanian Trail is from Sheffield Road, between Railton and Sheffield, but is unmarked. It runs alongside Mt Romani and is the first entrance into the bush from Sheffield side. Drive along about 750 metres until you reach a locked boom gate. THE WALK The walk to Redwater Creek Falls is approximately 1.3 kilometres. Along the Tasmanian Trail you will come across a sign saying only Tasmanian Trail users allowed. Keep walking approximately 1 kilometre until you reach another closed gate. Walk through the passenger gate. Along the track, you will see evidence of stone walls of the railway history. The Falls are on your right through another passenger gate and the trail becomes a bush track. The track suffers from some erosion, especially close to the waterfalls, so care must be taken. At the time of writing (April 2015), a sink hole had developed on the path. After walking down to the bottom of the Falls, follow the track around the bend and you'll find another smaller Falls.

05.01.2022 Montana Falls Nikon D7000 Camera ND Filter Sigma 10-20mm Lense Situated on Western Creek, Montana Falls is a wide by not very tall waterfall accessible from Long Ridge Regional Reserve on Leonards Road in Montana (near Deloraine in northern Tasmania). It is somewhat a seasonal waterfall, best viewed between July and October when rainfall and snowfall is optimal in this region.... Access to Montana Falls begins from a 4WD track adjacent to a sign that says 'Long Ridge Regional Reserve'. Follow the track for about 250 metres before accessing another track on your left. The turnoff to access this track is not marked and can be easily missed. If you start to climb uphill towards the ridge, you've walked too far and you will need to walk back until you see another track. The new track will lead you to Montana Falls, and has the occassional pink ribbon to guide you. Follow this track for about 400 metres and then follow the track to the right. It is at this point the waterfall will be easily heard, and is accessible within minutes. Further downstream along the track is access to a series of small cascades known as Montana Cascades. Allow about 1 to 1.5 hours return to view and enjoy Montana Falls and Montana Cascades. See more
