24.01.2022 We are now taking enrolments for 2019!! We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8am - 4pm with regular and occasional spots available. The cost will be $9 an hour with a minimum of 3 hours. Please call Jann on 9528-2855 for further information.

18.01.2022 We are anticipating being open tomorrow (Wednesday 13th November), pending no local fire activity in the area tonight. We will advise here if that changes. Thanks again for your support, and stay safe.

17.01.2022 We have recently had quite the upgrade! With new flooring, furniture, lighting and kitchen area, both staff and children are enjoying this fantastic new space! We're also looking forward to a revamp of the outdoor area which will see a sensory garden in the coming months. Djanaba is staffed by qualified childcare educators, and provides families with the flexibility to leave children in an early childhood learning environment on days and hours that best meets their needs, som...etimes with short notice. Over the next few months we'll also be undergoing an accreditation process, giving families further confidence in our program and services. We are one of few services that offer an under 2 years facility in a small and caring environment. We offer regular placements, as well as spaces on an "as needed" basis available. Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 8am - 4pm, $10 per hour per child, with a 3 hour minimum visit. Call 9528 2855 to book.

11.01.2022 Commencing in Term 2, ABC Education will be providing online content for all Australian school students to watch. For families with school aged children who are trying to keep up with the educational needs of their children, this is another great resource coming soon.

08.01.2022 An activity pack that turns into a time capsule...

08.01.2022 Our CEO, Diane Manns, has been nominated as a finalist in the 2019 Westfield Local Heroes program for Westfield Miranda - please help us have a chance at winning a $10,000 grant by casting a vote here - https://surveys.reputation.com/surveys3/run If successful, the money will be spent developing the facilities at Djanaba, which we will be using as a trauma centre on days when the Occasional Care is not operating. Your children will directly benefit if Di gets enough votes to get across the line! Please share with your networks and ask family and friends to vote before August 12! Thank you!

07.01.2022 Due to advice received from the NSW Fire Services and the Department of Education, we will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 12/11/19 due to forecasted catastrophic fire conditions. SSFS is currently in the process of contacting all families and communicating the centre’s closure for the day. We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause, but as safety is our primary concern, we hope that you understand our position.

07.01.2022 While we know our recent closure has caused some "further changes" that families are still processing, we wanted to let you know that the team at SSFS are still here to support you. We'll be keeping this page open for a while, and sharing lots of ideas on activities that you can do with your kids at home. Also, when things get back to "normal", and social distancing regulations relax (hopefully in a few months time), we'll be scheduling a gathering for parents and children to... again see the Djanaba team, and have a proper "farewell" for our wonderful staff. If your child would like to draw a picture for any of our Djanaba team, send a photo, or record a special message on video, please feel free to send it to us at [email protected] (or via DM to this FB page) and we'll happily pass it on for you. In case you missed it the other day - this is a great episode of Play School that specifically deals with the COVID-19 events going in the world. And talks specifically about how important washing hands is. There is a great science experiment you can do at home, which talks about how kids can do their part to help everyone stay safe. It's a great watch! It's important when watching videos on Facebook (with your children present) that as the adult, you are there with them to answer questions, and press "Stop" at the end of the video. (Otherwise the next/ follow on video will play automatically and we have no control over that content or whether it's appropriate for children). Stay Safe Everyone...

06.01.2022 Today we celebrated 30 years of service from our Djanaba Director, Jann Griffiths. Jann has been the consistent "face" of Djanaba, brightening the lives of over a thousand children during this time. Please join with us in Congratulating Jann on this wonderful achievement!

02.01.2022 We've had lots of fun at Djanaba recently learning about Australian Animals.. We currently have some vacancies, so if you're looking for regular or occasional care for your child, we invite you to take a closer look at the broad educational experience we offer.

01.01.2022 Who will you be mailing a hug to?

01.01.2022 We're open as usual, and following Government advice regarding service operation and eligibility. We know there is a LOT of information in the media - and this is creating anxiety and stress for all parents. Our recommendation is to remain calm, measured, and use common sense and good hygiene practices. Instilling these good behaviours in your children and refreshing your own commitment to them is important right now.
