24.01.2022 2020 Art Music Awards - we've just been announced as finalists in Excellence in Music Education AND Excellence in Regional Area!!! So proud of our enormous, committed, wonderful team. "Finalists for the Award for Excellence in Music Education highlight the quality of work done around the country, with Australian Art Orchestra’s Creative Music Intensive residency program in Tasmania; Speak Percussion’s ‘Sounds Unheard’ education program, enabling young musicians to work with ...leading professional musicians; Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra’s Australian Composers’ School; and Netanela Mizrahi & Guwanbal Gurruwiwi’s the Djari Project. A double finalist in 2020, the Djari project draws on the traditional knowledge and songlines from the Galpu community of Galiwinku/Elcho Island, NT. The Djari Project also made it to the Excellence in Regional Area shortlist, with other finalists the Bangalow Music Festival (NSW); Gillian Howell and Tura New Music’s Fitzroy Valley New Music Project; and Rae Howell’s Bee-Sharp Honeybee." https://apraamcos.com.au//2020-art-music-awards-finalists/

19.01.2022 Loved sharing some songs with DSO ensemble last night and really excited for first piece for orchestra with these amazing musicians in August!

19.01.2022 Last night we performed our first ever orchestral work, Miyapunu, with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra. These musicians gave everything to the development of this work, and we are so grateful for their incredible performance, their guidance and their trust. Thank you DSO!!! Due to COVID19 restrictions, the theatre seats sold out quickly but the recording is available thanks to our friends at Global Trade Professionals Alliance for streaming it as part of the Festival of Inclusive Trade. 16.01.2022 We're heading to the NT Human Rights Awards to celebrate the amazing work of so many in our community. All welcome to join us!

14.01.2022 On Kaurna country, inside Slingsby’s Hall of Possibility moments from our final stage of recording with the Young Adelaide Voice’s Aurora choir. We met Christie Anderson and these extraordinary women in 2019 at the Alice Springs Desert Song Festival, shared some wonderful collaborative performances with them and the Arafura Music Collective, and continue to be overwhelmed by their exquisite work, their unfathomable generosity and beautiful hearts. These women are amazing. Aurora have their own Adelaide Fringe show this week which we know will be incredible

11.01.2022 "Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart were each individually featured more times than all the female composers combined. As for First Nations composers? There was only one Deborah Cheetham whose music was performed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra." https://www.limelightmagazine.com.au//a-new-survey-of-au/
