25.01.2022 Today we celebrate #GlobalWindDay2020. Denmark’s wind power sector produced about 47 % of Denmark’s total electricity consumption on 2019. In Q1 2020 Denmark has set a record with the equivalent of 60 %. We also have a strong Danish footprint in the Australian and New Zealand wind markets.

Planlæg derfor allerede nu din transport til lufthavnen, hvis du skal flyve ud af New Zealand i den kommende tid. Det er dog stadig muligt at køre med taxi og Uber. 22.01.2022 NEW ZEALAND: Stor risiko for, at der snart ikke længere kan flyves ud af New Zealand Der vil være en stor, reel risiko for, at det i en længere periode stort set ikke vil være muligt at forlade New Zealand, når Qatar Airways efter den 19. april indstiller alle flyvninger ud af landet. Udenrigsministeriet og ambassaden i Canberra opfordrer dig derfor til straks at tage kontakt til fly-, rejse- og forsikringsselskab for at booke din hjemrejse. Qatar Airways oplyser, at selskabe...t frem til den midlertidige lukning af ruten har indsat tre ekstra fly i påsken (QR923 10., 11. og 12. april) og to ekstra fly i ugen efter påske (QR921 18. og 19. april). Herefter forventes der kun at være ganske få kommercielle fly ud af New Zealand, foreløbigt frem til 31. maj. Det kan i særlige tilfælde være muligt for danskere at få plads på andre landes særfly. Du skal dog være opmærksom på, at du skal betale en pris, som afspejler de store omkostninger ved udsendelse af særfly, at der kun vil være meget få pladser til rådighed og at pladserne vil blive tildelt med meget kort varsel.

20.01.2022 Seneste nyt - relevant for rejsende fra New Zealand (opdateret kl. 13:00) For europæiske rejsende i New Zealand er der en åbning for transit i Australien. I denne tidsperiode tillades rejsende, herunder danskere, transit i Australien fra New Zealand. Denne åbning trådte i kraft kl. 21:00 20-03-2020, og er gyldig til d. 24-03-2020 kl. 12:00 australsk tid. Nærmere detaljer vil blive offentliggjort her, så snart de bliver tilgængelige. Hvordan reglerne bliver efter denne periode, vides på nuværende tidspunkt ikke.

20.01.2022 Last week during a trip to the Tesla Battery Storage Facility, Ambassador Pernille Kardel stopped at a small chocolate factory in a small town called Laura where she discovered Chocolatier, David Medlow working at his Chocolate Factory Coco Laura. Ambassador Kardel was delighted to taste his Peckton’s berry fruits made with real Danish pectin which he swore was the best money can buy.

19.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION for former Danish nationals wishing to reacquire Danish citizenship. The deadline for reacquisition of Danish citizenship is fast approaching last date for submission is 31 August 2020. Former Danish citizens, who have lost their nationality due to acquring a foreign nationality, have until the end of August to submit an application for reacquisition of Danish citizenship. Please note that applications must be received by the Ministry of Immigration a...nd Integration (UIM) in Denmark on 31 August 2020. You may lodge your application via a mission - preferably by COB 24 August 2020 in order to allow for processing locally and ensuring your application is received by UIM in time. Vælgere, der har stemmeret, kan nu brevstemme på Danmarks ambassade i Canberra eller på et dansk konsulat.... På grund af COVID-19 tager det længere tid end sædvanligt at sende stemmerne hjem, så stem gerne i god tid. Bestil en tid i forvejen, hvis du planlægger at stemme ved et konsulat. 17.01.2022 Today we said goodbye to Tom Nørring, who had his last day at the embassy after 4 fantastic years serving as Denmark’s ambassador to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. We wish him all the best at his new posting as ambassador to Ghana.

15.01.2022 Yesterday, as testament to the strong bond between Australia and Denmark, HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark participated in the inauguration of the Australian War Memorial in Denmark along with the Danish Minister of Defence. The memorial commemorates the fallen Australian soldiers from the First World War, as well as the Australian military and service personnel who contributed to the liberation of Denmark during World War II. 05.01.2022 Today I had the pleasure of attending a rare on-site visit at the development of Quay Quarter Tower in Sydney, designed by Danish architect company 3XN. It was a true pleasure to experience the collaboration between Denmark and Australia and to see how engineering and design is being implemented in a highly complex and challenging environment. /Pernille Kardel

Hvis du ønsker at rejse til Danmark via Australien, opfordrer vi derfor til snarrest at søge kommercielle billetter hjem. Samtidig har Qatar Airlines netop oplyst, at der frem til den 14. april vil være 4 ugentlige direkte afgange fra Auckland til Doha. Vær opmærksom på, at ruten derefter indstilles frem til d. 31. maj. Ønsker du at rejse hjem med en af disse afgange, anbefales det, at du hurtigst muligt rejser til Auckland. New Zealand indfører fra onsdag d. 25. marts kl. 23:59 lockdown, som indebærer, at der lægges yderst strenge begrænsninger på al indenrigstrafik.
