09.01.2022 CRICKET WORLD DEAN JONES R.I.P Like many young boys I loved Cricket. I loved being Victorian.... I loved playing in the drive way, on the front lawn, down the park in the street and whilst the other kids in the neighbourhood always wanted to be Allan Border or David Boon, when I was batting I was always Dean Jones. The fact that my name is Dean had a little bit to do with it, however his love for representing Australia and making sure everybody knew he was Victorian sealed the deal. When Deano was on, he was on. For a time in One Day Cricket there was not another innovative Batsman like him and often when our test team might have been struggling, he would be the one to dig deep. It is a sad lost at the age of 59, at a time when we all just want to hear good news, positive news and look at happy stories. Dean Jones was one of a kind, Cricket will miss him & as a fan I will always remember him.
