15.01.2022 Going along to the Ipswich Genealogical Society information session this Saturday to see if I can get more information on my 3rd great grandfather John Laidler who died there in 1856. Fortunately, his widow returned to Northumberland or I would not be here!

04.01.2022 On April 25, 1953, James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalind Franklin and colleagues published papers in @Nature on the structure of DNA. This is now known as @DNADay -- which is tomorrow! Visit www.genome.gov/dna-day for ways you can celebrate at home! #DNADay2020

03.01.2022 April 25th is not only my Birthday and ANZAC Day in Australasia but is also National DNA Day in the States. It commemorates the day in 1953 when James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalind Franklin and colleagues published papers in the journal Nature on the structure of DNA. Furthermore, it commemorates the successful completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003. The goal of National DNA Day is to offer students, teachers and the public an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the latest advances in genomic research and explore how those advances might impact their lives.
