16.01.2022 Today we made a bat for a customer in WA. His specs were anywhere between 2.9-2.11. Oval Handle. Decent edges. Mid Middle and a full profile. Of course we fulfilled all of these and produced a very nice looking and feeling bat. However half way through the sanding process it was noticed that this cleft had been affected by high winds whilst still part of the tree. This storm damage presents itself by a series of very faint shaky lines that run horizontal across the blade. Gen...erally these shakes are very difficult to pick up in the bat but should be continuously checked for along with other defects during the manufacturing process. At DNB we will not allow these storm affected blades into the hands of our customers as they will not last long at all. As a company who relies on word of mouth for sales and not highly paid professionals using our equipment we simply cannot afford to let our quality control slip and so this bat will make its way to the bonfire. Just another reason to select a company such as DNB for your next purchase. Nothing cheap and imported with fancy stickers just highly skilled podshavers who get the best from all of our clefts. Below are some pictures of the bat, the effected area and the result of letting these bats into game.

14.01.2022 A monster of a bat for 2.8. Plenty of grains and a butterfly staining on the edge and back caused by pruning when it was growing. Butterfly stain actually provides durability to the bat and is widely regarded to improve the perfomance. Another sensational bat going out the door :-)
