24.01.2022 REST IN PEACE, BEAUTIFUL ANGELS Welcome to The RED HEART Campaign's memorial to women and children who have lost their lives to murder or manslaughter. We h...ave chosen to give no start or end date for this ongoing collection of photographs and stories. This gallery is the only one of its type in Australia and exists to honour and remember those who deserved to live long and happy lives but were never given the chance. We also commemorate those women and children for whom we do not have photographs or cannot picture for cultural reasons. The RED HEART Campaign's founder Sherele Moody undertakes the research, photo gathering and story writing for this project. If you have photos and/or the details of women or children lost to domestic violence, family violence, sexual violence or any other form of violence to add to this memorial, please PM The RED HEART Campaign Facebook page. Please click on each photo to read the victim's story HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THE MEMORIAL You can help grow the Memorial to Women and Children Lost to Violence by becoming a sponsor. 22.01.2022 With the abhorrent prevalence of domestic violence towards women and the myriad of resources dedicated to it, there has been a largely untold story of the domes...tic - physical, psychological and emotional - violence and bullying towards men and the complete lack of resources to help them. The Other Half - The Hidden Story of Domestic Violence Towards Men is a documentary that will break the silence and stigma involved and will compassionately explore the topic to add balance to the debate of violence within relationships and between people and nations in general and the greater implications is has for the health of the planet. We typed into Google "documentaries about domestic violence" and there were numerous films about domestic violence towards women and none about violence towards men. So the decision was to have a documentary that tells the other side, for balance, so men realise there is someone sticking up for them too and hearing/telling their side of the story. www.kickstarter.com//the-other-half-hidden-story-domestic-

18.01.2022 Worth a read and listening to... The Church has the ability to help many people who are at risk and suffering from domestic violence. Unfortunately it also has the ability to 'allow' domestic violence to continue by either ignoring what is happening to people or in some cases encouraging and putting pressure on women to stay in an abusive relationship at all costs. This is very sad, and I personally know people who have been in this very same situation. Don't get me wrong, I am not against churches as I do believe there are some that are helpful and a safe place for people to seek help. However, we cannot simply ignore the fact that domestic violence is a huge problem, especially for women and children.

05.01.2022 Please note I have set up this page as a place for people who have been affected by DV either directly or indirectly, and whether male or female as DV does not discriminate. Please share stories if you want, but with the aim to help others through their own struggles. Stories to help build strength, resilience, courage and for those out there still feeling trapped in this terrible destructive life, that here is help, support and most of all acceptance of who they are as a hum...an beings with true feelings, dreams, aspirations and just the need to be loved and most importantly to be believed by others (especially family) that what they are experiencing is real, and that they are not the cause or reason of this destructive behaviour they are subjected to. When sharing stories/experiences, please don't name specific people/professionals etc as these comments will be deleted to protect not the perpetrators, but those at risk themselves. Thank you for understanding and supporting this area so close to my heart. Please feel free to message me anytime and I will endeavour to reply to you when I can. Also note this page is not intended in any way to replace proper professional advice, whether it be medical or legal. Any views expressed on this page are purely those of the individuals own opinions and not necessarily supported by myself or others associated with Doctors Against Domestic Violence. See more

04.01.2022 I have set this up as it is an area very close to my heart. I am a doctor. I am a Specialist Anaesthetist. Domestic Violence does not discriminate. It has affected my closest friend. It is nothing to be ashamed of. It should not be hidden. When we avoid this subject or pretend it doesn't exist then the perpetrators of domestic violence gain control. They need to be stripped of any control they have. I will continue to fight for those affected by domestic violence. As a profes...sion we have a lot of influence and I believe we can make a difference. A difference between life and death. Events that have occurred this week have rocked my world personally. I will not back down to these sick people who put others in vulnerable positions by way of both physical but also very powerful emotional abuse. We have to say No to this abuse. And that is what it is. Sick, emotional and physical abuse. Simple as that. Help me to help those that need saving from domestic violence. It has far reaching effects. It goes beyond the one person, but reaches anyone who is even remotely related to that person, whether they be family or friends. Let's stamp this disgusting and cruel thing called domestic violence out for good! See more
