24.01.2022 As we put one foot in front of the other during our walk or run, let's acknowledge the First Nations people who first placed their footprints on this wonderful land we call Australia. #NAIDOCWeek #loveparkrun

24.01.2022 One of the things we love about parkrun is that it is all inclusive and it is about having fun. You can walk, run or jog, there are no time limits and it is not a competition! As parkrunners see their fitness and confidence levels increase, they also see that their times are getting better. This ignites a desire in them to set goals, keep improving and aim for their own PB. Chris Horowitz has shared his story with us. I was at the launch way back in 2017 ran a time of 25:09... came back again 12 weeks later to try & beat the time to run the exact same time again. Then came back for event 126 to finally beat it with 23:59 plus doing my 35th volunteer role as timekeeper earlier this year. This is a great story Chris, thanks for sharing! Do you have a story you would like to share? We would love to hear from you as we celebrate our 3rd anniversary month #loveparkrun

14.01.2022 Dolls Point Parkrun was very lonely today but two runners went there to celebrate the 3rd anniversary now we have to eat the cake bay ourselves

11.01.2022 Following the launch of (not)parkrun, we’ve put together four simple tips to help you along the way http://parkrun.me/ic1y2

11.01.2022 Hands up who loves parkrun Many parkrunners talk about how parkrun either ignited their flame for running, how it is a place where they rediscovered their love of running, or how it was something that was there at the right time for them. Maria McCallum is one of Dolls Point locals and she shares her parkrun story with us... I was grateful for Dolls Point parkrun commencing at a time when I needed some purpose to keep running. A timed course along the water, being accountable and surrounded by other runners is just what I was looking for. Over the years I’ve had Personal bests and milestones but more importantly I’m just happy to get up early on Saturday morning and run. I have also introduced and encouraged family and friends to try parkrun and feel the happy endorphins that last for many hours on a Saturday. (as shown in my photos) From the original race director Damon and his team to the current volunteers led by Trish it is evident everyone involved loves the running spirit. The friendliness shown by all involved has increase the number of runners over the years and we are very lucky to have this parkrun in the St George Area. We love hearing these stories. Thank you Maria for sharing. What’s your story? Celebrating our 3rd anniversary month

06.01.2022 parkrun is many things to many people, but one thing that shines through is that it is a fun and supportive community where we celebrate each others highs and lows. Ingrid Botha is one of our parkrunners that has been here since the beginning and she shares one of her parkrun memories and why she loves parkrun I love parkrun because it's kept me running and I've made so many friends, all with different stories but all so incredibly encouraging. It's hard to think of 1 specia...l moment when I think of Dolls Point parkrun, so here's a collage of memories. It's loosely based on the day I broke the 30 minute barrier, and that's me in the middle leaping for joy. Bruce and Tina are scanning tokens, Jasmine is handing out finish tokens, Sue is scanning, Trish is run directing and handing out zooper doopers, and Wayne and Ali are at the cafe. Boss (Sheridan) is hanging out in the shelter, Pat and Willie are about to cross the line (Pat's wearing the bird hat she wore on her milestone run) and behind her is my Secret parkrun Nemesis. Plus there's a dolphin in the bay...ok, it may look a little like a goldfish... Happy 3rd birthday Dolls Point! We love this! Thanks for sharing and we love the leggo Do you have a story or a memory you would like to share with us? We would love to hear from you [email protected] Celebrating our 3rd anniversary month #loveparkrun
