11.01.2022 Mentor | Terry Kronk | The Relationship, Devastation and Lesson Eight years ago I was standing on the Northen balcony at 3 Faith Street for a 10am open home when I received, what is to this day, the most devastating news. I had a 41 second phone call at 8.10am with Terry to check all was in order for theopen house as his home later that day. He was cheery and upbeat and was about to head up for a morning flight in his hand-built Mustang replica. ... As a young, assertive and potentially over confident young man I was blessed to have Terry give me an opportunity to market his land estate, Sherwood Close, at Mount Lofty. This would be the first time for me to market an estate, something I was extremely excited about, what a great opportunity for my career! The opportunity, whilst originally one I was was focused on from a career perspective, resulted in being one more of a changed life perspective, prioritisation and gratitude. 01.01.2022 Do we sell Property or Trust? Gil-Gil settled yesterday and congratulations to our clients on a great outcome. Marketing this property for me was what can only be described as one of my career highlights. Not for the size of transaction, promotion involved, online and social media views, offers, and all the other attributes that many associate with success in our industry. The highlight was the trust our clients placed in our joint decision making and their support and confi...dence in our team and myself at every step. Initially we were to take Gil-Gil to market in late March, I think we all know what happened there, it was uncertainty at its height. We remained in close discussions as the days and weeks went on and during every conversation it was said me, "Tell us when its time." At one of our regular meetings I explained that i was seeing a shift in the market and it 'was time.' No questions asked, a simple nod and hand shake and we were off. The campaign went ahead and its safe to say if someone was looking for acreage near to Toowoomba, Gil-Gil would follow them over every marketing medium, it couldn't be ignored. The auction went ahead with active bidding, when the bidding had slowed and we consulted our clients I was asked "Are we selling Dom?" "Not today, there's more out there." This may come as a surprise but over the past 15 years I have more often than not been entrusted to make this decision, never taken lightly and always well supported, and only asked as a result of a great relationship and trust. A contract was accepted a week and a half later that made it clear as to why that decision was made. Our team and my approach to real estate, as I will always inform a potential client is a consultative one, we advise, recommend and discuss. Often this is the reason why we have the opportunity to work with truly amazing clients and assist in selling equally amazing real estate. This approach doesn't appeal to all and that's ok, i believe there is a 'Best Agent' for everyone. At what was a truly unique and challenging time in our industry the reminder our clients of Gil-Gil gave me that TRUST is our core product gave enormous confidence to work through whatever was ahead, we're fortunate that it just keeps getting better!
