15.01.2022 BUSINESS IN THE SPOTLIGHT Donald's Family Butcher The following article was written and published by The Buloke Times... To be a part of Business in the Spotlight a joint collaboration with The Buloke Times & Donald Chamber of Commerce please contact us to discuss. Donald’s Family Butcher’s Justin Trollop and Leo Tellefson are four years into their partnership, and remain very upbeat and proactive about their business of catering to the needs of their customers. The advent of COVID-19 has strengthened their belief that if you sell good quality meat, the community will support you. Commenting on an increase in demand over the past two months, Leo and Justin said that during the early stages of the pandemic, they were well patronised by local community residents keen to support local businesses. That trend has continued to the point that they are still very busy, with demand for the wide range of meats they sell as strong or stronger than ever. When the pubs had to close, we lost one avenue of business, but when people started to cook for themselves at home more, there was a noticeable increase in demand, said Justin. What we have noticed over the past couple of months is that local residents are inclined to shop locally, because of COVID-19 protocols, but also because they want to support local businesses. Leo and I really appreciate the support we have received from our community, and believe they are supporting us and other Donald businesses because they want to ensure local businesses remain sustainable, us included. In an effort to diversify their business and to meet the requirements of customers, Justin and Leo have introduced a number of lines that complement the meats they sell. Donald’s Family Butcher is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., and between 9 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday. In addition to weekly specials, the butcher’s shop offers a variety of meat packs. For you meat requirements over the long week, call in and see Justin and Leo at 52 Woods Street, or phone your order through on 5497 1565.
