15.01.2022 Humble Beginnings. The Monteleone family, founders of Donnybrook Farmhouse Cheesery shortly after arriving in Australia as refugees. After an earthquake devastated their home, their town and their community in rural Italy, the family left behind all they knew for the dream of a better life. With nothing but a suitcase of belongings they made the long journey by boat to Australia. No one in the family spoke a word of English, but within two days of arriving they were hard at work and saving for their dream of one day continuing their tradition of Artisan Cheese-making in Australia.

01.01.2022 The view looking east from Donnybrook across the Yan Yean Reservior. The name Yan Yean is derived 'Yan Yan' from the Woiwurung language spoken by the Wurundjeri people of this area and means young man. This site may have been a central place for initiation of for young men.
