21.01.2022 Weve been getting some great feedback from the Stockfeeds we have been producing of late. Unfortunately with extremely high commodity prices its very hard to keep a lid on our inputs, although we are trying our best to keep our top seller Dorroughby Finisher and Breeder mix under $600 per tonne. Just a note on our own herd, we weaned a few of our purebred Speckle Park calves early, and have been absolutely stoked with their performance since weaning and being on our Dorroughby weaner mix and good barley hay. In 27 days our star heifer Q10 has gained 45kg to be 279kg and our best bull calf Q8 has gained 49kg to be 290kg and the commercial Speckle Cross weaners have continued to go forward with some great results. Fingers crossed for some widespread rain in the near future for everyone.

16.01.2022 A few of our cattle on our property at the moment. The Speckle Park Steer is on our Dorroughby Finisher blend and the black heifer is on the Dorroughby Breeder/Recip Mix. On a huge positive note for our recip mix, we recently put 19 embryos (majority Grade 2, with two Grade 3s) in the last batch of recips. This was an afterthought due to our oats dying in the continuing drought so they didnt have much of an opportunity to adapt to the blend before the embryos were implanted. To make it more difficult, they were our poorest and least quiet breeders we have, so a result of anything above 50% pregnancy was a bonus. Turns out we managed 13/19 including one Grade 3 embryo sticking - a great result considering the season.

14.01.2022 Looking for quality milled grain, blended to create the ideal ration for your valuable stock? Dorroughby Stockfeeds has worked in close relation to some of the regions top cattle nutritionists to produce the best mixes to suit your needs. Ill be publishing our rations shortly, along with protein amounts, energy and cost per tonne. We can deliver in bulk loads up to 13t, or you can pick up in one tonne bags as little as half a tonne from our depot at Westbrook. We look forward to working with you in the future.

09.01.2022 Wishing all our valued customers a very Happy 2020. May it bring you health, happiness and an abundance of rain. Sorry for the belated wishes, as we have been very busy filling orders. We thank you for your support. As you can see that even in these extreme conditions the children can have some fun in the cotton seed. Happy New Year

01.01.2022 Happy to help out Tania Paget and thanks for the kind words. The last thing the people of Stanthorpe needed was a bushfire to go with this horrid drought.
