19.01.2022 Fantastic news - Speaking at a press conference today, Premier Mark McGowan confirmed that Phase 4 will commence this Saturday (27 June), which also includes limits removed for all gatherings, food and drink service for standing patrons and venues including Optus Stadium, HBF Park and RAC Arena being allowed to host 50% of their respective capacities. Though "large scale, multi-stage festivals" are still not allowed to run, concert halls, live music venues, bars and pubs can be back in action from Saturday without patron registration being required. Phase 4 will be in place for three weeks before Phase 5 is introduced on Saturday 18 July, which will see the removal of the two square metre rule.

05.01.2022 Its a very sad day for the music industry and the hospitality industry with all venues now closed, and even restaurants can only do take aways. All gigs have been cancelled for at least the next few weeks, quite possibly for months. We are all devastated by this and can only hope it is over sooner rather than later. Im sure once given the all clear, people will want to celebrate and party, but until then - stay safe and keep healthy.

Stay safe and don't forget to wear a mask if you go out anywhere. Assuming that all is well by Friday, Rod Coxell Sound Productions will be performing at Fenway Subiaco from 6pm. February is usually a quiet month for gigs anyway as school goes back and the holidays are over. Of course in Kalbarri it's business as usual, and this Sunday Johnny David will be keeping toes tapping at Finlay's Kalbarri from 4pm.

Malaga Markets has re-opened, with David Hamersley back on Fridays running the Kids Karaoke, roving magicians on Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes, a Balloon Twister on Saturday afternoon, Rod Coxell on Saturday evening, and duos on Sunday lunchtime - this week sees the return of Hot Suga, who will be doing every second Sunday, alternating with some new duos for a bit of variety.
