25.01.2022 FRIDAY FOODZ - CHILLI! . . Who doesn't love a good chilli? . . I love a good chilli, and I am always looking for new recipes to top the last one. It's comfort food for me, generally pretty good for you and the flavor profiles can vary so much that you don't really have to ever have the same one twice. I love that! .... . But, I made a pretty epic batch of BLACK BEAN CHILLI last night and im pretty impressed! Especially as it was just so simple and fast to put together. This is one I will be doing again that's for sure. (Note: hubby wasn't as impressed as it contained NO meat! Didn't bother me at all, I could very easily not eat red meat) . We had the whole plant vs meat debate......again! . . But, just saying, the benefits of beans are awesome. Weight for weight they contain almost as much protein as a fillet steak at a fraction of the cost and have more health benefits. . Beans help reduce cholestoral and protect against heart disease. They are a great source of fibre and low GI so they provide slow release energy, great for anyone with diabetes. Also they are rich in plant proteins (phytoestrogrens) so contain more nutrients and fibre than animal proteins. Not to mention the environmental impacts are minimal. . . Recipe though.... . 1 x tin of Black Beans . Half an onion . 1 large red capsicum . Lots of garlic . Jalapenos...to your taste. . Paprika . Ground Coriander . Cumin . 1 run of diced tomatoes . Tomato paste. . Then I added salt and pepper and lime to some mashed AVACADO and served with sour cream, chips (but you could do it healthier with sweet potato if you wanted) and fresh coriander! . . . 20.01.2022 To escape and sit quietly on the beach is definitely just pure bliss to me! Anytime of the day! It's a chance to reflect with no distractions, (most of the time) breathe and be spoilt with nature's best artworks. . Literally, I walked away from my family for half an hr to snap some shots of the sunset yesterday. We took homemade pizza down for a picnic dinner and all did our own thing for a bit, kids ran around and laughed, I walked and took pics lost in my own world and hub...by just sat, stopped and enjoyed a beer. Space for everyone. . Perfect way to end our weekend. . What do you do to reflect on the day and reset? . . 16.01.2022 It's SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!!! I have to say, Im excited! Its been a LONG term! I am very much looking forward to sleeping in past 4am and having no morning school rush! Im just super excited to spend some quality time with my girls and make the most of every second so I have decided to only offer a limited classes over the next 2 weeks. MONDAY 5am - Lamberts Studio Bootcamp... FRIDAY 5am - Lamberts Studio Bootcamp And, SMALL GROUP and PT will be by appoitment. Home workouts for members will be loaded to the members page every few days to keep you moving. On another note, Covid-19 didn't make anyones life easier, it has certainly been challanging to say the least and I just wanted to say I am SUPER SUPER grateful, more than I can express, for all of your support through these tough times! If it wasnt for your continued support DOUBLE M Fitness might have had to shut shop for a while but we made it through! Lots of continued work to rebuild but I am positive we will get there! 16.01.2022 Celebrating mums for the superheros that they truly are! . . HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! .... We hope you spent the day doing what you love and with the people that you cherish the very most! . We spent the day on a secluded beach with family. We got sunburnt, my hair is in a big knot, the kids are super cranky and tired but we ate freshly caught mud crab, fresh fish, corn on the cob and a good old spud all cooked over an open fire under a tree. We relaxed and laughed and played and I loved every bit of today! 15.01.2022 And we are BACK!!! We have recharged our batteries and are coming back into term 4 with a fresh mindset. I know there has been a little break for some and I firstly want to say, please do not feel discouraged because you have taken some time off! You have not destroyed your gains! Creating a sustainable lifestyle is about enjoying your journey, not trying to adhere to a restrictive regime and then feeling like you haven't done enough every time you stop and actually smell t...he roses so to speak. Please do not beat yourself up! You do have to get back on the horse though....Results do not happen without action. Only you can create the results you want and you do need to stay accountable. It is up to you to embrace your journey to achieve the best possible outcome. Here are just a few tips to kick off term 4 for embracing the journey and achieving those sustainable results. It is not going to be easy... Don't give up just because you have had a few bad days/weeks even, pick yourself up and get back on track. Focus on the journey, not the destination... Whatever the goal is, sometimes it may not seem like you are progressing, but you ARE!!! Please keep moving and you WILL see the results. Stay consistent. Slow and steady wins the race... Set realistic, achievable expectations and work from there. Celebrate your wins... However big or small your win is, celebrate it! It does not have to be a physical win, it could be a mental barrier that you have broken through. Also remember to celebrate others wins! Encourage each other. Talk about it, Check in with me... It is so important to get different perspectives and to share what your feeling. Your goals/circumstances may have changed, you feel like your not progressing, having issues with food intakes or healthy choices or you just need to vent!, This is why I am a coach, I am here to guide you. 15.01.2022 OMG I nearly died! . . With sporadic workouts in the lead up to christmas and then loads of food, plenty more alcohol and zero workouts until now that didn't go well......and thats ok! I enjoyed that break and thats all that matters. ... . . But there comes a time to start working off all the champagne, gin and vodka . . Dont feel shame on where you start at the moment, most of us are in the same boat and are starting 2 steps behind on a performance level. Myself very much in that boat with you. . . Remember though "The only bad workout is the one that didn't happen" So pull yourself away from the pool, pull those crazy socks up and punch it out for 30 mins. . . 13.01.2022 Starting the weekend with a nice Low Impact workout this morning. . . I love mixing up my exercises and at least once a week I love doing a lower intensity session focusing on stability, balance, strength and flexability. .... It is always nice to do a workout outside of my studio and up on my deck aswell. I am lucky to get views of the park and watching other people playing with their dogs, jogging, some doing yoga, all before 7am....always makes me smile. . . 12.01.2022 LET'S MOVE FOWARD>>>>> Good riddance 2020, it's time to let go of the past and start fresh. Honestly, I'm not a big believer of new years resolutions, I am fully aware we don't need another new year to set a goal or to be a better person BUT it is that time of the year we really reflect on what was and how we can do better. ... With plenty to look back on this year and the new normal of our future being different to what was that of 2020, I want to remind you to go easy on yourself in 2021! We all still have many obstacles to climb and lots of growth to do so don't go putting to much pressure on yourself. Make your goals a little smaller this year, still challenge yourself but keep them realistic and achievable. We have all heard it said before "It only takes a small change to make a big difference" in your life and in others. Adding lots of small changes and habits together end up turning into something beautiful. Commit to yourself to make little daily changes to be better, happier and healthier. I have decided to make my 2021 a year of "exposure" if you will. I WILL work on building everyday courage and releasing guilt, choosing gratitude in daily life and embracing the power of my imperfections. I am going to work on stepping into a new me and stepping out of my comfort zone. I'm scared but I'm also so excited for what I am going to learn and achieve. 10.01.2022 For me, making the most of my day includes getting up and out there early. I love being up before the sun rises! I think it is the most epic headstart and I feel like the way we spend the first few hours really determines the rest of the day. . . I can honestly say though, I dont get up early because it's easy, I snooze my alarm, sometimes 5 times but I always force myself up. I guarantee once you are out of bed, the hard part is over! It is about the commitment to myself an...d the sense of reward I get from making the most of those early bonus hours. . . The new day for me is refreshing and healing, and there is a quiet calmness about that time of the morning. I head to the beach most mornings to watch the sun rise. It brings a feeling of order, calm and harmony to me, like I'm the only one in the world and the whole day is just waiting for me. . . 05.01.2022 Even though the new government restrictions are allowing outdoor training up to 10 people, we have made the decision to only facilitate outdoor training until the end of this week! . . As of Monday 30th March WE ARE.MOVING INTO VIRTUAL TRAINING. .... . Simply, we have made this decision based on your safety. We have a duty of care to you, your family, my own family and our local community to do what I can to keep you safe and minimise the spread of this virus......and my mental health, if something was to happen I could never forgive myself! . . 03.01.2022 SHOUTOUT to this guy today!!! . . No word of a lie, Dr Rod, you are one of the most important men in my life! I dont know what I would do without you. I hate to think how my body would be functioning without your consistent care. ... . . We worked out today that it was 6 yrs ago I first stepped into this mans chiropractic clinic with all sorts of problems and I am not gonna lie, I had my doubts, I tried so many things to help me with my issues and nothing had worked. Well he worked absolute magic, in a completely natural way and actually cared! I now see Dr Rod once a month for my regular alignment to keep me functioning, and let me tell you when I miss an appointment it doesn't take long to feel my body slipping into a bad state again. . . Since that day 6 yrs ago when I decided to try something different, I didnt just gain an awesome chiro, natural relief to my issues, a better quality to my daily life, I also gained a great friend. . . 03.01.2022 "When life gives you rainy days, wear cute boots and jump in the puddles" . . I choose not to follow news pages or watch much news in general......I haven't for years to be honest. Yes, I might miss things but i honestly feel life is more positive for me by simply cutting out the negativity that comes with the media on a daily basis. I would much rather be on the beach with my babes building sand castles as the sun goes down. With everything happening in the world right now, ...it is important to watch, hear and take it in, but don't get sucked in, and it is so very easy too. It's not going to help in any way by feeding yourself with fear. Step away, put the phone down and turn the tv off! . We need to keep ourselves busy and getting creative on how we do that in isolation is tricky but there's the first challange to keep the mind working in a positive way right? . We need to keep the mind ticking over with positivity, hope and the feeling of usefullness. I'm going to presume you do to, but I know when I feel usefull and like I've achieved something I'm generally feeling pretty dam good! Even if it is just ticking something off the job list. . Clean that cupboard that seems to always just build up with shit (come on we all have one), and how good does it feel when it's finally done! Try a few new reciepes, play new games with the kids, make up new games why not! We have been making up dances and building fortes today in this house. Try something new yourself, do some yoga or try a virtual fitness class (you can join any of mine if you like ) but stay positive, mentally strong and away from the tv and social media! . .
