22.01.2022 With the trailer base build nearing completion it's time to start planning for the oven that will be bolted to the back 1/3rd of the trailer. To work out the bolted connections on the trailer we need to have a final design of the oven and the steel frame that will be supporting it. This oven is a full redesign of the previous one we made, this new design is a Nepolitan style pizza oven which has an Ellipsoid shaped dome built off a verticle wall called a Stem Wall. The idea ...is that with a flatter and lower ceiling we will reduce the internal volume of the oven meaning... less energy loss. We will then have the ability of increasing the floor width which allows for more cooking space and more pizzas per minute. The lower flat ceiling also provides an even cooking environment throughout the oven which gives you the classic Neapolitan Style pizza. The other difference is the center style flue which is a necessity for a Neapolitan Oven. The flue, although it looks like it is drawing from the center of the dome, it is actualy connected to the arch in the door. The heat from the flue as it passes inbetween the outside of the bricks and the render coat. As the flue curves over the dome the heat is further absorbed into the thermal mass reducing overall heat loss further. Enjoy.

16.01.2022 Over the course of the last few weekends we discovered the difficulty of handling the trailer frame as it increases in weight to its designed weight of 1 tonne. The process of building a trailer involves a lot of underbody work which needs to be done precise, as a result we needed to develop a plan to handle, flip, rotate and shift 1 tonne of weight with only 2 people. We decided to build a rotisserie style lifter that involves 1 upright located at each end, 1 tonne block a...nd tackles and 4 castor wheels, this gave us the ability to raise, lower, rotate and shift the trailer. 15.01.2022 With a little help from our friends Sean Waddington the mechanic wiring up the trailer and brakes and Steve Swift the Electrician for hooking us up with 15amp power for the welder we have now got to this stage. Next step- floor, painting, light fitoff and registration. Over the next few weeks we are having some time off over the holidays. Thanks for your help guys. If anyone needs a kick arse mechanic or electrician get in touch with these guys.

10.01.2022 It’s been a while guys but we have a big update for you. The base trailer has been built and painted, it’s now off to our mechanic friend Sean Waddington to wire up the breaks, lights and Electric Sway Control. From there it’s off to VicRoads to get registered.

08.01.2022 Big weekend at Dough Brothers. 2 major components have now been installed to the trailer. -Axles and Suspension fitted -drawbar installed ... We will be rolling in a few weeks and then off to the Galvanisers. Stay Tuned!
