19.01.2022 Golden turmeric chicken! Recipe: - 4 tbsp Golden Paste - 1 tsp ground cumin... - 2 tbsp smoked paprika - 2 dates chopped finely - 1/2 cup coconut cream - 1 cup chickpeas - 1/2 cup mint chopped finely - chilli if desired - 2 chicken breasts (or use pumpkin wedges for a vegan alternative) * combine all ingredients in a bowl * marinate for atleast 2 hours * preheat oven to 220 * place in an oven tray * bake for 16 minutes or until just cooked (be careful not to overcook as it will continue to cook while it cools down) * serve with rice or cous cous ENJOY! Now he’s probably floating in a life raft in the South China sea, praying to be found, and return to his beautiful young family. The life rafts on the ship had supplies for up to 30 days, and if anyone can survive it will be Lukas. As searches are scaled back, privately funded satellite companies and search and rescue companies are now needed to find Lukas and the missing crew of 40. ... 12.01.2022 Results from the Turmeric Wham Bam Liver Booster Trial conducted at the Burleigh Surf Club 13th August 2020 are presented. The bar graph displays the results; orange bars are the measured BAC % results with turmeric, blue bars are the predicted BAC % under normal conditions (i.e. no turmeric). In summary: Results from 25 candidates (13 females, 12 males) were analysed. Methods of predicting BAC % based on sex, BMI, age, time of drinking session varies, as do their calcula...ted values. The trial results were compared against an average of the following four methods: o Simple Widmark: https://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-Blood-Alcohol-Content-(Wi o Widmark using Barbor 'r' factor: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4361698/ o Watson et. al method: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4361698/ o Wikipedia Swedish students method: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_alcohol_content Every candidate’s measured BAC % results showed improvement compared with the average predicted BAC %. The average decrease in measured BAC % (with turmeric) vs. predicted BAC % was 24%. I.e. over a two-hour period, this equates roughly to 1 less standard drink for females and 1.5 standard drinks for males. The turmeric effect was more pronounced for: o Females (28% benefit) vs. males (18% benefit). o Younger people, <=40 years old (27% benefit) vs. older (22% benefit). o Healthier people, <=BMI 25 (30% benefit) vs. higher BMI (21% benefit). In conclusion, based on the results of the trial, there is a strong indication that turmeric has a positive outcome on the metabolism of alcohol. To draw solid conclusions confirming the effects of turmeric on the metabolism of alcohol, it is recommended that more trials be conducted with greater numbers of candidates, with an even cross section of characteristics (e.g. sex, age, BMI, etc.), tighter control on variables (e.g. what people ate that day), tighter control on drinks imbibed during the trial (e.g. some people started the trial but failed to record a BAC % at the end because they were evidently having too good a time!). Also confirmation as to which is the most accurate method of predicting BAC % (potentially by establishing a control group; more trials with the same candidates without turmeric). CJE.
