25.01.2022 A quick note to all members and members of the public. Our courts are open for recreational practise only, and all persons using the courts must adhere to 1 person per 4 square metres. Please adhere to these social distancing restrictions, and the general rule of "arrive, play, leave". Coach and Members of our club have first priority for use of courts followed by the general public.... At this stage, due to the current directive from SAPOL, tennis coaching is not allowed to take place, this includes private and group lessons. A submission has been sent to SA Health and SAPOL from Tennis Australia, for coaching to be included in the current directive. This will be assessed and we await the outcome. We will keep you updated with any news regarding coaching & competition etc. In the meantime, take care and hopefully we will see you back on the court very soon.

22.01.2022 Hi All Tennis SA has just informed us that they are going to cancel all Tennis SA run competitions this Saturday, 21st November. They will then make a decision Tuesday next week on playing on the 28th November. In keeping with the above, all GWTC and GDTA competition matches are cancelled for this Saturday, 21st November, 2020. A decision on playing on the 28th will be made after, and in line with, Tennis SA’s review next week.... Club practise for juniors for this Wednesday 18th Nov is cancelled. Gen will be in touch for the following week when we know more. Stay safe and hopefully see you soon.

21.01.2022 The cheer squad out at the Doubles tennis this afternoon. Unfortunately their cheers didn’t quite get Team Dover over the line!

20.01.2022 We have some received some good news as below! A meeting was held this morning between SAPOL and SA Health regarding coaching of tennis. Previous advice to Tennis SA from SA Health was that coaching of tennis was not permitted.... I can confirm today this advice has been updated, endorsed by both SAPOL and SA Health, permitting 1 on 1 coaching. Further to this I confirm SA Health previous advice that group coaching is not permitted. ======================================== So in short Private 1on1 coaching is allowed now by our club coach - no group coaching. No coaching allowed at the club other than by our Club Coach or Authorised Persons. Our Tennis courts are open for a casual hit between mates as a recreational activity (not a club planned activity). Thank you for your patience.

17.01.2022 Following received from Tennis Australia: Unfortunately we are not providing the update we were hoping for today. Following extensive discussions with SAPOL and SA Health, SA Health have formally confirmed that the Direction explicitly identifies indoor or outdoor community sports fixtures and trainings as a restricted public activity, which includes tennis coaching. Whilst we are disappointed, we understand and accept the decision that has been made. We are also grateful ...that these restrictions are only expected to be in place until Tuesday 1 December (subject to change). Please understand that these are unprecedented times and our team can only pass on the information that we have received. Not permitted (restricted public activity - community sports fixtures and trainings) Tennis coaching (all coaching except Cardio Tennis) Club organised trainings, competitions and events (including, but not restricted to the following: planned club trainings, internal club social tennis competitions, inter club competitions, club tournaments) Permitted Cardio Tennis sessions (defined public activity - fitness or recreation activity) Tennis courts open for a casual hit between mates as a recreational activity (not a club planned activity) Indoor meetings (contact tracing records required) In addition to the above, ALL GDTA/WDTA competition and Tennis SA administered competitions are cancelled for 27th & 28th Nov. (With 40 degrees forecast it would be too hot anyway). All club Tues Social Tennis, Wednesday Midweek Ladies, Club Practise Wed and all private/group coaching NOT PERMITTED. We will provide a further update by Wednesday 2 December for the above listed competitions due to be held on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December.
