13.01.2022 Rolfe Designs Safe Catch Cattle Crush. Firstly I'd like to say that I started out in a family operation where we bought a large undeveloped cattle property nea...r Springsure in central Queensland in 1980. In 2001 my wife Neiliya & I moved to Armidale where we bought properties near Ebor & Guyra. We ran cattle on all these places & so over the years we have strived to make cattle handling as safe as possible. It wasn't until we moved to the Armidale district when I only had my wife & 2 daughters to help, that I started designing a 12volt hydraulic cattle crush & hydraulic curved race to make it easier & safer for us & also for the cattle. So 15 years later & 4 crushes later I've got the design that I'm happy with. After I built the 3rd crush (the normal lever action crush) I involved a hydraulics engineer& we took all the pressure readings we needed & I involved a mechanical engineer & we redesigned the whole crush where we didn't use levers giving us a greatly superior mechanically efficient crush. I now have a remote controlled, solar charged, battery powered, fully self contained, quiet cattle crush that has a rear & front head bale & a separate top & bottom side squeeze making it safer than a parallel Squeeze. Now there's no need for noisy generators or air compressors that stir the cattle up & irritate the operators & being remote controlled, you don't have to be beside the crush to operate it, giving you the ability to push the beast up yourself. The next step was to test the crush, battery & solar panel when it was raining & the results were amazing. It was used for 12 hours in these conditions & the battery voltage barely dropped. Now that I've got the crush to the standard that I want, the sky's the limit. Full automation of crush, yards & drafting would be just the beginning. 09.01.2022 Doug Rolfe Is the owner and founder of Dozoco Building Services. He was born and bred on the land in Central Qld on a large cattle property.... In his thirties, Doug ventured overseas and lived in Scotland for four years returning to Cairns in 1999. Doug says, 'he looked more like a Scotsman when wearing a kilt than many of the locals'. However, he never managed to master the lingo!! After marrying a local Tableland girl, he now lives in Malanda where he considers himself truly at home. He is a devoted family man, the father of 3 adult children and 5 more blended adult children as well as 11 blended grandchildren. His long stints with leadership roles in the community has extended to being an A Grade Competitor in both Ballroom Dancing and Rowing as well as being the president of the Cairns Ballroom Dance Club, the Tableland Country Rowing Club, and the Local Cattleman's Union in Central Queensland, modalities of which he has a lifelong interest. He has inherited the strong ethics of work, honesty and integrity and brought them to the building industry , which is one of the things his clients most like and respect. His word and his handshake are as strong as the contracts he signs. His learned abilities in solving unforeseen issues, have been essential in the renovation industry in particular. Doug is an experienced and accredited builder who is as good at listening to what you actually want as he is at swinging a hammer. As the Director of Dozoco Building Services our team couldn't be in better hands!

09.01.2022 We couldn't enjoy more giving a new life to buildings! Here is an extensive renovation we did on a Queenslander built in Malanda in the 1940’s.

08.01.2022 Houses of a near future- Australia innovating on windows technology. "The team of researchers, led by Professor Jacek Jasieniak from the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science (Exciton Science) and Monash University, have succeeded in producing next-gen perovskite solar cells that generate electricity while allowing light to pass through. The team are now investigating how the new technology could be built into commercial products with Viridian Glass, Australia’s largest glass manufacturer. This technology will transform windows into active power generators, potentially revolutionising building design. Two square metres of solar window, the researchers say, will generate about as much electricity as a standard rooftop solar panel."

07.01.2022 The advantages or a re-roofing job, go far beyond than just the aesthetic aspect! In many cases also has a significant impact on improving the energy efficiency of the house and helps to significantly reduce the cost of the bills! Here is the before and after of a re-roofing job that we have done for a commercial building in Atherton!

01.01.2022 https://www.abc.net.au//queensland-government-an/12359648 Grants for seniors "To support smaller scale projects, a Seniors and Accessibility Renovations Grants program will provide grants of $5,000 for household repairs.... The grants are for seniors who are struggling to afford necessary maintenance. "This is a program that will help older Queenslanders make improvements to their homes that they may have been putting off due to financial constraints and, in turn, will give our tradies a shot in the arm," Ms Palaszczuk said. "It will support works of up to $5,000 to help with repairs to electrical works, plumbing, improving accessibility, smoke alarms, unsafe flooring and roofing," she said." For more info about the programme or if you are interested on having a free quote don't hesitate to send us a message.
