25.01.2022 RECFISH SA RELEASE ITS PLAN FOR RESERVOIR FISHING RecFish SA are very proud to release its plan for developing SAs Reservoirs into some of the best freshwater ...fisheries in the land. The plan was developed by our Freshwater Fishing Working Group which includes representatives from SAs premier freshwater fishing organisations; the South Australian Fly Fishers Association, the South Australian Fresh Water Anglers Association, the Lower Murray Lure Fishing Club and the Warren & South Para Reservoir RFC. The plan establishes a strong foundation from which to build a network of great reservoir fisheries across SA that will meet the needs of all users and has been submitted to the government for further consideration. 25.01.2022 REMINDER: NO BOAT or VEHICLE ACCESS to NT DESIGNATED BIOSECURITY AREAS. This includes the WILDMAN RIVER, DALY RIVER, SOUTH & EAST ALLIGATOR RIVERS The vast maj...ority of NT recreational fishers have done the right thing by getting on board with the current COVID19 rules. A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY for doing your bit to help protect Territorians and for helping to prevent the spread of the virus! The behavior of most fishers at Easter was fantastic with people following social distancing, gathering and closed area rules for fishing. We have received positive feedback and thanks from the NTG and the Police about the levels of compliance. So remember and take heart, that by following the rules, you are in the vast majority and you stand shoulder to shoulder with our proud community at this critical time. Well done! This map shows the Biosecurity areas designated under federal law for the Top End of the NT. These areas have been established to protect our vulnerable communities and there are heavy penalties for non-compliance. It is essential that all ALL fishers follow the rules and dont put community health or future fishing access at risk. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer To be clear, there is currently NO ACCESS by land or by boat to a designated area (including rivers) without prior lawful exemption. This includes popular spots like the Daly, Wildman, South Alligator, West Alligator or Moyle Rivers, including the river mouths (check the map for specific closure lines). However, the current restrictions (including boat fishing only with those you live with) remain in place on advice from the health experts, and right now the biggest risk to achieving that future as soon as we possibly can is complacency. So it is as critical as ever that all fishers continue to do our part. We ask you to join us in extending a big thanks to Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services for their great work on the ground and on the water. They are working hard under difficult and often fast changing conditions. So be sure to follow their direction and remember to thank them for working while you are fishing. Finally, thanks also to the Australian Fishing Trade Association for working with us, spreading the word through their excellent network. 22.01.2022 BROOME FISHING COMPS SUCCESS SAILS ON AMAZING BILLFISH FISHERY The Broome Fishing Club held yet another successful Broome Billfish Classic on the weekend, high...lighting the world-class sailfish fishery off the Kimberley coastal town. In just two frenetic-fishing days of the tournament, almost 900 sailfish were raised, nearly 600 were hooked and 386 were tagged and four marlin were also caught. There cant be many sportfishing locations that can boast that kind of return and the comps almost unbelievable results prove Broome is home to some of the hottest sailfish action in the world!!! A big shout out to Broome Fishing Club for organising the event local clubs are the lifeblood of regional fishing and events like this allow anglers to gather, enjoy great action and pool information at the end of a days fishing over a beer or two. Long may the comp continue!

21.01.2022 Just got back from an awesome week away Barra fishing with Capt Dan Daniel on board the 'Iron Lady' with Australian Sportfishing Charters We covered a heap of g...round west of Gove onto Buckingham Bay 480 fish all up 270 Barra with my PB of 118 being the highlight Awesome food from Scooter every day and backed up on deck and wheelhouse by Arthur a true salty dog with some great stories. Definetly be back on board with an again hopefully in the not to distant future. Highly recommend....top charter guys See more

05.01.2022 Just a heads up guys and gals If your an owner of an older Daiwa Zillion or Shimano Curado particularly and you love these older reels....look after em as parts are no longer available for a lot of these reels, even though a lot arent that old. They superceded them that quick these days. That they just stop making the parts. So look after those older reels, cause theyre much better quality than a lot of the newer ones. Cheers n tight lines.
