While she may not have been the best horse to have under the pressures of the competition, it has been awesome to continue with her training, and help her to become a more willing and confident horse. 6 weeks into ridden life, looking for leadership and wanting to be with me is... a pretty great achievement for us both. 14.01.2022 Get the tissues ready for this rehoming story When Little Man came to Team Thoroughbred he wasnt in great shape. Hed been malnourished as a foal and never... grew to the size he should be. Despite a life of mistreatment, he was an absolute sweetheart and all the staff at Oxley Island fell in love with him. Little Man shared a paddock with Aeecee Delighted and the two were inseparable until Aeecee Delighted was adopted by Renee Downs. As she led him out of the paddock Little Man followed too, constantly nuzzling her and trying to get her attention. When Renee got Aeecee Delighted home she was so happy but couldnt stop thinking about Little Man. She was worried hed be missing his best friend so a few weeks later she went back and adopted him too. Now Aeecee Delighted and Little Man will spend their days playing together thanks to Renee and her kind heart See more

12.01.2022 Levels of fear, and when it's OK, and when it;s not--- So maybe create a chart. Here's one that I just sort of made up, but someone else might get it more accur...ately--- 1. Nervous 2. Apprehensive 3.Pretty much afraid 4.Truly scared 5. Terrified Levels 1 and 2 are normal, I think, and if you are not nervous before some daunting challenge, you are probably on mind numbing drugs. Level 3 can be when something unexpected happens, any sort of scare, like a truck coming too fast, finding yourself on slick ice footing, brief, hopefully survivable, but not fun. If you ride and find yourself at levels 4 or 5, something is SERIOUSLY not right with your situation, and you need to rethink what you are doing before you get in really big trouble. You are either riding a horse that is way over your head, or you are doing some sort of riding that is far too hard and dangerous, because to live with that extreme level of fear is not normal, and it is not right, and you need to change RIGHT NOW.

03.01.2022 Horses will not bend well unless they have confidence, respect and trust - When a horse is feeling scared or unsure of a situation they will tend to try and stay straight and stiff through the body. Tensing their muscles, making it harder to bend. They are readying themselves for a flight response. If you gain your horses confidence around you and your tools, and focus on building a relationship in which they feel safe, they will naturally start softening and putting the bend in their bodies as desired. #buildingconfidence
