25.01.2022 Good news! It's just a common cold: not Covid. Dr Sharples will be back as usual tomorrow. Thanks for your patience, understanding and well wishes. :)

24.01.2022 Hello everyone, We are closing today at 3:30. We're back in clinic tomorrow morning normal hours. :)

24.01.2022 We are closing today at 3:15pm (Tuesday 4th). Back tomorrow at 9am.

23.01.2022 Just a reminder that we have a zero tolerance policy for bigoted, disrespectful and abusive behaviour. This includes hate speech: whether in my waiting room or on social media.

22.01.2022 Dr Sharples has awoken this morning with cough/cold symptoms, and as per Department of Health guidelines, he is self isolating at home pending a COVID test result. The clinic will remain open and the staff will be working hard to rearrange appointments or to organise a Telehealth (phone call) consult as an alternative. He will be working remotely during this time, until the COVID test result is confirmed. We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we operate to maximise public safety and attend to patient needs.

20.01.2022 With the large number of coronavirus cases, an extensive and detailed amount of statistics have now been gathered: 1. 80% of infected people will have sore throat, cough, fever and recover; 2. 15% of infected people will also get shortness of breath and recover; 3. Only the remaining 5% of infected people will need medical care.... Mortality for infected people is less than 1%, and even for those over 80 years old, 90% will recover from infection. Please keep in mind the statistics that the media neglect to publish, yes people can die from this virus, but the vast majority will survive. So take care of yourselves, wash your hands, and please don’t put yourselves in debt to hoard food (and toilet paper). Spare a thought for your elderly friends, relatives and neighbours and if you are sick, keep them safe by keeping away and we will all get through this together.

20.01.2022 Hi all, Please be advised that we are closing at 2pm today and will be closed over Easter. Back again next Tuesday. Stay safe. Stay home. Happy Easter!

17.01.2022 Hi everyone. After last Thursday's little scare, we have decided that we will always close the clinic on Code Red fire danger days. Apparently a few people were a little displeased that they had to have their appointment rescheduled. Much as our professional concern is very much your health: our primary concern on days of catastrophic fire danger is the safety of our animals and ourselves and, let's face it, we should do our best to keep excess traffic off the roads on those days. Thanks for understanding!

17.01.2022 We will be closed on Friday, the 3rd of July; open again as usual on Monday the 6th. :)

16.01.2022 EDIT: Good news everyone! We are back and continuing as normal! Thank you to those who were so lovely and patient this morning. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------... Hi everyone, Unfortunately our servers are down. This means that Jim is unable to do appointments today as he has access to nothing, including writing scripts, results or doing phone consults. Currently the server is being rebuilt by our software provider, however they are also overwhelmed due to short staff because of COVID-19. Once things are back up and running, we will continue making appointments. We hope that this will be by the end of the day and will continue updating Facebook as we go. If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, please stay home as per government requirements or call the hotline if you are experiencing fevers or have come into contact with anyone potentially infected. Thanks for your understanding.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, We are shutting the clinic this afternoon due to the fire danger. If you have an emergency, please call 000. We should be open again tomorrow at the normal times. If anything changes, we will update our Facebook page. Thanks for your understanding and stay safe.

07.01.2022 For those who need to be reminded: We want the clinic to be a safe space, which is why we implemented a ZERO tolerance policy. To make this clear: this means we do not want to be affiliated with people who disrespect, dehumanise, abuse or vilify anybody based on the colour of their skin, their ethnic or religious background or their gender preference/identity. It doesn’t matter if this happens in the clinic or in a public forum, including social media. Please be aware that if you choose to express harmful or hateful words, you will be asked to leave the clinic.

06.01.2022 Unfortunately we are still waiting for Dr Sharples' results, so can only continue to offer Telehealth (over the phone) appointments. We'll update as soon as we hear anything. Thanks!

04.01.2022 As masks are now mandatory in Victoria; they are mandatory in this clinic. If you enter this clinic, you MUST wear a mask. If you feel you have reason for a legitimate exemption, please advise the reception prior to coming in for an appointment so that alternative arrangements can be discussed (based on individual circumstance). If you have been given an exemption, we ask that you stay outside the clinic and call reception to let us know that you have arrived. We understand that these measures may be inconvenient, but is for everyone’s safety; including your own.

04.01.2022 Hello everyone! We are taking a small break over Christmas! The clinic will close Tuesday afternoon at 12:15 on the 24th (Christmas Eve) and will be shut until Monday the 30th at 9:00am. 03.01.2022 We are closing at 3pm today. The office will be open again at 9am tomorrow morning. Unfortunately Dr Sharples is still awaiting his test result. We will keep everyone updated. Thank you for the well wishes.

03.01.2022 Hello everyone! We've gotten a few enquires about the Coronavirus. Everyday we are getting updates from the government about what to do, and new information on the virus as they find out more. So we're just posting some useful links straight from the Department of Health and Human Services which is where we are getting our information sent from. - Self-assessment for COVID-19 risk chart:... https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//2001628_COVID-19%20Self%20ass - About COVID-19 (symptoms, advice, risks, preparation, etc): https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/victorian-public-coronavirus-di - 24 hour hotline number: 1800 675 398 - Victoria has now opened a number of screening clinics that can test you (The Alfred Hospital, Albury Wodonga, Austin Hospital, Barwon Health Geelong, Box Hill Hospital, Monash Clayton, Northern Hospital, Peninsula Health Frankston, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, Sunshine Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospital). If you do feel that you or someone you know may be unwell, please contact these clinics. Standard hospitals and GP clinics cannot run tests at this point in time. - For now, the best prevention is being hygienic. Washing your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with hot soapy water is more effective than hand sanitiser. - For those wondering, the flu shot should be available mid April. We will update Facebook when they arrive. Also please remember to get your information from legitimate sources. The tabloid press, non-fact checked social media posts and doomsday preppers are not legitimate. And look out for each other!
