25.01.2022 Stretches! Get up and move that spine! Even if you only do one of these stretches every 20 minutes it’s better than nothing!

25.01.2022 Hey everyone, I know COVID-19 has affected us all in different ways but today I want to give a shout out to all the Chiropractic Students who are in their final year of study. These students are required by Australian law to administer 300 treatments in their clinic internship year in order to pass their degree. Sadly, Coronavirus has seen a significant drop in patients attending the student clinics. I’m told that around 30-40% of students (in NSW) may have to repeat their f...inal year of study in order to graduate. A huge disruption to their life and livelihood. If you have a body, and you have a spare hour, please book in to get a check up at a student chiropractic clinic. (See details in comments). The sessions are very affordable, extremely thorough and well supervised by qualified Clinicians, and you might be the difference between these guys having to put their life on hold for a whole year or not. Thanks all See more

23.01.2022 ** Working From Home Tip ** If you don’t have the right equipment to set up your home office space (chair, monitor, mouse, keyboard etc) and are finding that most places are selling out of these items, here is something you can try. Contact your employer or HR representative and ask if you can borrow equipment from the office. ... I’m finding a lot of workplaces are doing their best to provide a safe working environment for their staff and are prepared to buy and lease equipment where they can. If you need suggestions on how to write a letter to request this please get in touch!

22.01.2022 Who is a little bit guilty of this? "Text neck" is a popular phrase but what it really means is that with every inch the head is craned forward looking at a screen it doubles the pressure to your spine. With that extra pressure comes a lot more wear and tear to the joints, ligaments and discs, causing protective muscle spasm to commonly occur in the neck and shoulders. So what can you do? - Obviously you can try and hold the phone up higher, and eventually your arms will get tired. When that happens, it's time to put it down and take a break! - Check your daily average screen time on your weekly report. You'll be shocked by just how many hours you're unwittingly spending looking down at your phone. Make goals to reduce the time spent each week!

11.01.2022 How much movement have you achieved this last week or two? Frequent movement is the MOST important thing we need to keep doing even while we are at home isolating. Without movement we start to get negative effects on our musculoskeletal system, our cardiovascular system and our mental health. We should be aiming to get up and move around every half hour at a minimum. Even if it’s only to stand up and stretch for a few seconds. ... If you need help being reminded to stand up and move more frequently there’s a bunch of great apps and devices that can help you * Fitbit/ Smart Watch: set to vibrate when you’ve been idle too long * Rise & Recharge: download the app and set to give you a push notification on your phone every 30 minutes. * Straighten up: download the app and have a look at the simple quick exercises you can do throughout the day. Good luck and get moving!!! Adrienne

11.01.2022 "Sit less, move more. You know you should. But all too often, time gets away from you and before you know it you’ve been on your backside for four hours straight." . "What’s more, research has found that Australians, many of whom have been stuck at home, are spending more time seated during the pandemic. For sports physiotherapist Paul Dardagan, that’s worrying, because a highly sedentary lifestyle is associated with numerous health risks, including early death, diabetes, heart disease and poor mental health." . https://www.smh.com.au//a-three-minute-hourly-exercise-to-

10.01.2022 This *his laptop stand is still too low in my opinion. Might need a box or some books to bring it up even higher. *try also to sit ontop of a folded up towel so that your hips are higher than your knees.

06.01.2022 Just think, if this video is talking about the average Australian during an 'average' work day, imagine how much more inactive we are at the moment. Stay home, but please don't forget to keep moving. Exercise daily and don't forget the frequent incidental movement throughout the day too.

05.01.2022 Guys, this video may seem a bit silly. But it really demonstrates how much we can miss if we don't know how to wash our hands properly. Don't forget your thumbs, nails and the the insides of your fingers!

03.01.2022 If this is you please send me a message and reach out for ergonomic advice. I've got loads of helpful tips and am happy to organise a free zoom/skype consultation to go through them with you!

01.01.2022 If you're using a standing desk at home or in the office, be sure to stand on a thick (10mm) yoga mat. This will take pressure of your feet, knees and back and allow you to stand with healthier posture.
