25.01.2022 The impact of Coronavirus will affect patient care in different ways and we are here to help. Below are some measures we have taken to reduce the risk to you, w...hen visiting our practice. If you have a long term follow up of a problem eg a 12 month review or similar, then please consider rescheduling in 2 -3 months. Alternatively you may be appropriate for phone consultation. These bookings will be starting in 7 days or so. Please come to your appt with your own pen if possible, to fill out and sign any paperwork. If you have travelled or have been in contact with someone who has travelled overseas, please wait a minimum of 14 days before rescheduling. Our waiting room magazines have been discarded . If your consultation is for results and xrays and discussion of treatment possibilities, it may be appropriate for a billed phone consultation instead of coming in. Please ask about booking this instead. Please hand wash with soap after using our bathroom. Please use use the skin sanitizer provided. We have reduced the numbers of patients attending our sessions with smaller numbers coming at different times, aiming to have emptier waiting rooms. We have got rid of clean sheets on our exam tables, these tables will be wiped down with alcoholic cleaner after each use. Please allow the doctor to open and close the door of your consultation room. This minimizes the effect of different patients touching the surroundings. We have used alcoholic sanitizer on the door handles and surrounds. If you are sick especially with a respiratory illness, please reschedule when you have recovered. Thank you

09.01.2022 I have been using Navigation for my Knee replacements for sometime now, and tomorrow I will look at the evolution of this to a precision robotic surgical arm. 08.01.2022 Arthritis in the knee is not new. Figures suggest around 18% of the population experience some form of arthritis. What is new, however, is the way we’re treatin...g it in particular, when the patient finds their way to the operating table. In our latest article, Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Anita Boecksteiner, explains what the MAKO Robot can do and how it is being used to replace major joints for patients. bit.ly/robotkneereplacements

08.01.2022 260 Moreland Road, Brunswick, Victoria 3056 (03) 9385 3000 Joint and Sports injury, Reconstruction, Replacement, Corrective Surgery Hello, I’m just sending you a brief update on our services here from Dr. Anita Boecksteiner, at Northern Orthopaedics... Patients can usually be seen and assessed in one consultation. We have access to a full Radiology department in close proximity if any extra scans or X-rays are necessary. Our on-site Ultra-sound machine is used for examining many superficial tendons, joints, and muscles, to add to the consultation assessment if needed. Often injections can be performed for most joints or tendons on the day with minimal extra, if any cost to the patient. MAKO Robotic partial knee replacement is now possible at St.Vincents hospital, and I am trained in this technology. It complements the Navigated computerized joint replacements I have been doing for some years now. I’ve recently done the first combined case in Victoria, with the MAKO Robotic precision arm, of partial joint replacement AND stabilization together, in a patient with long-standing patella instability and secondary wear. For your convenience, you may direct your referred patients to our web site for further information in regards to making an appointment, and what is required to bring on the day. Pages from our site can also be selected and printed out by your staff for patients who do not wish to navigate the web, with phone numbers, instructions, directions etc.
