24.01.2022 Soulitude & renewal... a quick sketch of our dog and renewing an old painting in preparation for a new painting, whilst listening to some new music I came across. It's interesting how I can see and feel the painting as already done in my mind's eye... the beach on the weekend has inspired me.
21.01.2022 Sunday sketch hour.... It always surprises me what comes out when I pick up a pen... Today I sat down in a sun-soaked spot in the garden, sheltered from the wind and drew what I felt when I was doing a half hour of yoga stretches this morning. It started with the hands in a prayer position, at the end of what is called 'mountain pose' - a series of stretch movements. The rest simply materialised. I love the love hearts present in the drawing - flowing from the hands down over the belly, and behind from base to touching top of the head, signifying that a little self-care goes a long way.
10.01.2022 "Thy shall not COVID-19 thy neighbour..." Something that was itching me to be written down/drawn. Humour is a great stress reliever. But reality of today is that so many are at breaking point. I thought I'd draw that point of no return, when something breaks. Most of the time it happens on the inside - we break, and emotions come flooding out... it's from holding on too long. I find expressing these emotions keeps a person stronger and healthy, and whole. Any way you can exp...ress an emotion is good work. 07.01.2022 Outdoor sketch today - ocean baths. Interesting to closely observe the water in the ocean bath - intrigued by the shape it takes on when a gentle breeze manipulates the surface and how the sunlight plays with that. #sketchbook #sketchart #art #beachday
