24.01.2022 We call this one the baby elephant - gorgeous, grey and huge! 2HSL Tare: 1640kg (certified) ATM: 3500kg... Internal measurements: 4.5m long 1.98m wide 2.4m high $26,000 on road This float was designed with one super-sized bay and one smaller bay. Tack box big enough to fit a baby elephant in, complete with swing out saddle rack. Fully enclosed (check out that panoramic view from all those windows). All side windows open including the ones in the access doors to ensure maximum ventilation. Nice big tail lights. Interior and exterior lights. Deep cycle battery set-up. 24.01.2022 What lurks beneath... How this float ever kept horses off the bitumen is a total mystery and proof that miracles can happen. Solution? - a very expensive chassis rebuild. If you're thinking of doing up a "project float" make sure you know what you're getting into before you hand over your hard earned cash. It's just like horses - the initial purchase price is usually the cheapest part!

24.01.2022 Well, we've gone and done it - Big Blue sails off to her new home tomorrow Letting this one go was not easy (or smart?!) but she's off to bring joy and camping comfort to a new family. Now transformed into a big 2HAL with twin bunks, extra storage, kitchenette and airconditioning, the ATM was reduced to 3500kg and she now weighs in with a tare of 2200kg. Definitely my favourite float to date. Now it's back to the drawing board for a new DRB ambassador float for season 2021 which we WILL NOT SELL THIS TIME!

11.01.2022 A tale of two trailers. Both are 2 horse straight load extended or "warmblood" floats. One is ours, the other is not. Quite a startling comparison pic. We custom build so you get what you need. One size does not fit all.

10.01.2022 As the saying goes - "no hoof, no horse". The same applies to the wheel bearings on your float. Losing a wheel at any speed is never going to be a good thing so always ensure your float has an annual service and that the bearings are replaced at least every 2 years. A dry or worn bearing will lead to the axle moving inside the brake drum. What starts as a slight vibration will soon lead to violent "slapping" which will crack the drum and cause the wheel to shear off and hea...d down the highway without you. The signs of wear are not visible on external inspection until the damage is done. So, what are bearings and where are they located? 10.01.2022 Well, 2020 sure isn't going as well as we'd all have liked. While the DRB workshop remains virus free, some of our suppliers are starting to feel the pinch with supply chain interuptions. We have been busy advance ordering what we can but there will likely be some unavoidable delays in building or repairing your floats in the coming weeks. Damo will be in touch with anyone who may be impacted to discuss this. In the meantime, we are open for business and full steam ahead. 01.01.2022 The number 1 design issue with most floats is inadequate airflow! Even in winter, it gets mighty hot in there . But dont panic, there are several things that can be done to help your horses breathe easier and keep cool. Windows in the storm door are one stylish option. This increases the draw through of air from the vents and side windows and gives the hot, stale air somewhere to go. Got a floaty problem? DRB Floats can solve it!
