25.01.2022 Teaching is one of my favourite ways of giving back. Especially in times of COVID, I’m so grateful to have access to extensive photographic and media capabilities. This allows me to live stream a surgery or give lectures online to keep on educating the next generation of dental professionals.

23.01.2022 I’m not the first to say 2020 has been a challenging year. Although it’s been extraordinarily tough, it has also allowed clarity in what is important in our lives: our health. I’m so thankful for my patients, friends and team to see out the year, and looking forward to 2021!

19.01.2022 Let’s discuss John Kois and his 5 diagnostic keys. Predictable outcomes are key for any Prosthodontist or Implant Surgeon. Biotype of the periodontium, Tooth shape, Position of the osseous crest. Watch this video now, where I’m discussing those factors in more detail, using patient examples and further insights following my personal experience on the matter. So put your sound on, let me know your thoughts and make sure to follow me on social (or subscribe to my YouTube channel) for the next Bites. See more

18.01.2022 Here’s to moderation Of course one drink won’t harm your teeth significantly. In fact, the Australian Government Department of Health guidelines advise to drink no more than 10 standard drinks per week, and no more than 4 on any one day. So you can easily raise a couple of glasses over the silly season. Plus, one of the best ways to minimise the damage to your teeth by soft drinks and juices, is a straw! There’s been a fair few bars banning them, so it’s worth getting your own reusable one.

18.01.2022 First things first: not all ceramic crowns are created equal. So let’s delve into their differences and how they are linked to various causes of their fractures. Not only am I highlighting design faults and how to avoid them, but I’m also sharing my top tips for successful ceramic crowns that will stand the test of time. Watch the video and make sure to follow me on social (or subscribe to my YouTube channel) for the next Bites.

17.01.2022 Many know that sugar is not good for your teeth, but there are high levels of acid in everyday food and drinks that can also cause tooth erosion. Watch this quick video for my favourite tips against tooth erosion! Interview with Ask Men - tips for both men and women

11.01.2022 Love making time for catch ups just like this! Having an in-house ceramist allows me to simply pop over and learn from Mary’s expertise. These little visits are so rewarding, both personally and professionally.

07.01.2022 This case is a reminder that what we do for our patients can drastically affect their psycho-social well-being. Dental work that doesn’t go to plan may affect aesthetics, self-esteem, function and be a financial burden. Patient care and well being should be the ultimate objective of a health care clinician. All on Four gone wrong. ... Unfortunately the patient received an all on four procedure 8 years previously that started to fail within the first year. He functioned with the broken prosthesis that consisted of four maxillary teeth for 6 year before seeing me. Unfortunately the treating dentist was deregistered for poor treatment of this case and many others. The main problems were due to the poor positioning of implants leading to severe cantilever forces and breakdown of the maxillary prosthesis. Coupled with that was the poor design of the prosthesis leading to inability to clean and peri-implantitis. The patient did not want to undergo further bone grafting procedures and did not want the existing implants removed, hence the unique solution of a stable base denture with non-rigid attachments that allowed the maxillary removable prosthesis to slide passively on the attachments. It was a life changing transformation for the patient allowing him optimal function and providing the ability to socially interact once again. We can do so much for patients! I hope you enjoy this case. See more

02.01.2022 Our lovely patient flew several times all the way from Indonesia for his full mouth rehabilitation and gave a big thumbs up at the completion. The funniest thing is he even bought my book Practical Procedures in Aesthetic Dentistry.
