25.01.2022 The Australian Government has decided to ease restrictions on elective surgery. This decision was made due to the decline in the spread of the Coronavirus and arrival of much needed Personal Protective Equipment. Procedures include: - IVF - post-cancer procedures ... - knee, hip and shoulder reconstructions - denture fittings and fillings - eye procedures - endoscopies and colonoscopies It also includes all procedures for anyone under the age of 18. Procedures will begin after the 27th April and a further announcement will be made by the Federal Government on May 11.

A: Advice is to maintain your regular checkups with your GP and to not risk your current medical condition if these checkups are not done. If you are feeling unwell contact your GP by phone or video for medical advice. 2. If someone has elective surgery booked, will this still go ahead? ... A: Elective surgeries category 1 and 2 are still going ahead and when the time is right the Dept of Health will broaden the number of elective surgeries that can take place. 3. When will all of this be over, so we can see our family and friends again? A: We have flattened the curve, however COVID-19 and the spread is unpredictable. Advice is to keep practicing social distancing, follow health advice, check on each other and use helplines available on the Government website, which will help in bringing us all back together again.
