03.01.2022 Vaccination against TUBERCULOSIS is important to protect babies who will travel to countries with high rates of TB. This vaccine is not necessary for all babies born in Australia. BCG is not on the routine schedule. Some of our patients say they have trouble finding doctors who offer the BCG Not all doctors offer this vaccine. We can administer BCG if it is needed in Brisbane. The vaccine takes 3 months to be effective so needs to be given well in advance. It is given on the left arm and does leave a scar.
