15.01.2022 It's R U OK?Day, a reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. Today we're calling on Australians to learn what to say af...ter R U OK? so they can keep the conversation going when someone says they're not OK. There's more to say after R U OK? Learn what to say when listening with an open mind Learn what to say when encouraging action Learn what to say when checking in Learn how to continue a conversation that could change a life. When we know what to say next we can help someone open up and find pathways to support long before they're in crisis. Learn what to say next and help us move closer to our vision of a world where we're all connected and are protected from suicide. Head to www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

12.01.2022 On Monday last week, the Government announced that the COVID-19 Phase 4 restrictions were being extended and the Perth Royal Show was cancelled. Since then we h...ave been consulting with the Government, City of Armadale, Health Department, Royal Agricultural Society of WA, other Agricultural Societies, West Australian Showmen’s association, our members, volunteers, Sponsors and the local community to determine if the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show will go ahead for 2020. The Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show, staged by the Kelmscott Agricultural Society, a not for profit group made up entirely of volunteers and supported by a team of volunteers, has been a favourite Community Event for over 120 years. The Show has been a main event for the local community to get together socially, for entertainers to perform, for many local businesses, sporting groups and associations to fundraise and raise the awareness of what they do and for the community to enter into competitions showing off their skills in everything from cooking to displaying their cattle and sheep. Due to COVID-19 and the impact it has and is having on our local Community, it is with extreme disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Show for 2020. A significant amount of work had been done by our committee to make the Show as safe as could be in line with all the Government requirements and recommendations, but with the changing landscape of last week we felt that this was the only decision that could be made for our Community. We appreciate that this decision will be a disappointment for many, but we look forward to the Community joining us in the 2021 version of the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show, which we are now turning our attention to. Please hold the Friday 15th and Saturday 16th of October 2021 free in your calendar as we Bring our Community Back Together. In the meantime, please continue to support our Sponsors, donors, local businesses and community groups. Without them, we will not be able to stage this event in the future Should you have any questions or comments, please contact the myself or the Show Manager Daryl Dawes on [email protected]. 01.01.2022 Please support our events industry by adding your name to this campaign to highlight the predicament the industry is in at the moment with events being extremely limited due to Covid19. This greatly impacts everyone that is involved in setting up events such as ourselves and we really need more government support to assist the thousands of great people involved in the events industry. Thanks everyone!#wemakeeventsaustralia
