25.01.2022 It's time to go exploring!!! It's another glorious afternoon and I don't mind that I'm just looking at it as I write. But seeing magpies starting to make their presence known I can't help but remember a few instances in both of my books in regard to the birds. One using them as a strategy in a game of rugby, the other part of the dangers of adventuring (one of the more perilous things). This is exactly the sort of weather for kids to get outside and play, this is covered in m...y new book 'Kingdom of the Creek'. Either get outside and play (adults not discluded) or go and grab my book to give you some ideas. There are still a few signed copies left at Collins, but not many so grab one soon. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/catalog/search Enjoy. Drew

24.01.2022 Magpies are used as plot devices in both of my books. In Following the Leader Magpies are used as a strategy in a game of rugby, interesting. In Kingdom of the Creek magpies are used to bring awareness of just how dire it is to be pursued by one. The main characters abandon their friends and relatives as they start being swooped. It is known that between the rushing of wings, terror filled whistles, and clicking of the beak, they are pretty much done for. The scream of someo...ne being chased by a magpie is a Springtime staple sound in Australia. Find both here. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/catalog/search

24.01.2022 Love to see others advertising my book. Thanks Bianca.

24.01.2022 Today, and every day. Hey, it's are you ok day. I hope you are all ok, but I understand in these uncertain times if that is not the case. ... If you ask the question be prepared to follow through with it, it isn't a novelty it could be a lifesaver. Don't be afraid to ask again tomorrow, or the day after, or for the remainder of the year. Don't forget to ask your mates, even if they aren't showing concerning signs as they may be hurting more than those who do. If you are someone who isn't okay don't wait to be asked. Either talk to someone you trust who can help, or find a safe outlet that you enjoy. Reading, sleeping, exercise, entertainment, friends and family. Surround yourself with positive factors. If it helps you could even send me a pm, I don't mind. Are you okay?

23.01.2022 I need you to help get my books noticed. They are fantastic stories of youth, playing, and mateship. They are local stories about local people, events and places. Get around them. There are three simple ways to assist me. They are: buy them, review them or promote them.... One of the cheapest and best places to purchase them is Collins bookstore in Orange. Support them as they support me (heaps). Plus there are still some signed versions left in their store. But just get your hands on a copy however you can. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/catalog/search Have you read one of my books, perhaps both, and enjoyed it(them). Then please let others know and review it. The best places to get it noticed are: Booktopia https://www.booktopia.com.au/search.ep or Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=drew+bale&ref=nb_sb_noss Or spread the word by letting your friends know, share my posts with them, or INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS in your friends list to like my page. Aiming for 1000 followers by the end of the year. Don't forget you can join my Orange Bookclub if you want to discuss what you are reading. The link is here. https://www.facebook.com/groups/241531300605037/?ref=share Thanks, and as always I appreciate your ongoing support. Enjoy your days

22.01.2022 Into books and want to talk about them? Join this group. The current conversation is about biographies and recommending good ones.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/241531300605037/?ref=share

22.01.2022 I always love checking out bookshelves, particularly so when a book that I wrote is in it, even more again when it has both of my books side by side with a blurb. The book is also on display behind the counter. Better be quick though, half of the signed copies are gone. Top shelf and in demand. It's a nice to be. ... This is quickly becoming one of my favourite photos. Check it out when you the get the chance, otherwise telling all your friends (invite everyone in your friends list) to like my page will be a great help.

22.01.2022 Sharing some feedback this afternoon. Teachers involved with three schools have sent me messages over the past few weeks. Two were from the Central West and the other further abroad. I thought I would share. All comments are based on Following the Leader, my first book. One said: 'I grabbed a copy if your book and gave it to our year 5 teachers who are about to talk about leadership in the classroom. Both teacher and student loved it and found it relatable and very enjoyable.... Thanks.' The second said: 'I have been reading this book to my year 4 class. They have enjoyed it, with many of them seeing themselves in the characters involved. Some were shocked throughout the story but found they could think of kids that are depicted. Well worth a read.' The other message said: 'A parent obtained a copy and suggested the class read it, giving me the book. The kids found it interesting, and as I have a year 5 class many of them found themselves thinking about what they could do in a leadership role. Did not pick the end. Well done.' I love getting positive feedback. I am more than happy to get private messages about my books, and if you offer your time to contact me I will reply. I even have a mate calling me tonight with his thoughts and I can't wait. It isn't going to hurt to have a look at the books and support a new (and hopefully up and coming) author. I await with anticipation for thoughts on my latest book 'Creek Crew: Kingdom of the Creek' as well. Get on board and to help here are the details from a previous post. 21.01.2022 Holidays, day 2. Kids already looking for something to do? I have a couple of recommendations. I have spent the past couple of days walking around local wetlands and water catchment areas and there is an abundance of things to do within them. Explore, imagine or sit and relax. Free fun, running on your imagination just like you older kids (adults) used to do when you were kids. And you can find these anywhere. If inspiration is needed. Then my second suggestion is to get my ...second book, 'Creek Crew: Kingdom of the Creek'. Based in Orange in a location which has since been turned into a water catchment area the book is about a group of mates using the environment, their imagination, their bikes, and each other to have the greatest time with no charge and little effort from parents. Inspires the reader to play, or even read it outside where it is even more emmersive. I really enjoyed walking around and seeing other kids putting the book into action, rope swings, forts, dams for waterfalls. Fantastic. Even my own boys loved it. To find the book follow the links Support Collins as they support me. Go to booktopia and amazon to purchase and review. Have a great day. Like my page, get my book, tell your friends. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/catalog/search https://www.amazon.com.au/Creek-Crew-King//ref=mp_s_a_1_2 https://www.booktopia.com.au/creek-cre//9780648838531.html

20.01.2022 Got home this afternoon to be greeted by this letter from the local federal member Mr Andrew Gee. Thanks Andrew, this has definitely made my day and I am appreciative of all the support that you have given me over the years, and with this notice in particular. In regard to Mr Egg, I am certain that with the effort he shows the community he will continue to be held in high regard. Pretty true to character.... It ends what was already a fantastic week, which was added to yesterday by a local school wanting to use Following the Leader as a text. I am only ever grateful for all the support that I receive from everyone. This acknowledgement is going straight to the pool room. Thanks Andrew, and thanks everyone who supports me. Have a great weekend.

18.01.2022 What do you do once you have written a book? Start writing another one. I am lucky in a sense that I have no deadlines to write to, and therefore can take as long as I would like to create whatever I want. But also that I have a hundred ideas that I am excited to write about and keep building on. Not lucky money with time though. Maybe I can buy more some day.... It all starts the same way though. Imagining, thinking and dreaming. Then jotting down my ideas in some fashion onto paper (this Star Wars notepad will do nicely this time) that will no doubt get ignored as more details come when I write, whilst daydreaming out my window of the next sequence of events until I realise ten minutes has passed without a pen stroke. It all makes sense to me though. What doesn't make sense is planning six books at once, I don't have time for all those do I. Only time will tell. What are they? A story for another time

17.01.2022 Another afternoon spent prepping for the next book. Almost done and getting pretty excited to start smashing in over the next few weeks. The pic below should give a small hint as to what it may be about. Don't forget to purchase or review my other books. The link is here for you. Positive messages keep coming forth from both, so keep them coming.... https://www.booktopia.com.au/search.ep

16.01.2022 It's Saturday and the sun is shining. It's also in between sport seasons. So get outside. What did we do back then? Grab a bike and ride it, then when we were tired of that we would build a bike jump. Share them with a friend. Warning: don't shove a stick in someone's front spoke as they roll over your jump. Bad things happen.... Find that story and more in Kingdom of the Creek. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/catalog/search Enjoy your weekend

11.01.2022 I have a had a couple of interviews lately for the release or discussion about my new books. Even though it was more of a chat than an interview, last night I had the best one. A very good mate of mine (non-reader usually) sent me a request to talk about my first book 'Following the Leader'. I love spending time talking about any books and getting into what is happening, I just love the discussion, but that is even more enjoyable when it is my own. We talked about Events fro...m the book and the reality of it, the characters and backstory of some, the reality of some of the fictional characters and how they link. How familiar names pop up from time to time and a general feel of the book, which was pretty positive. I am not going to lie, after that awesome chat and recent messages I feel positively refreshed about my books and my writing. Walking 10 ft taller today. Thanks heaps. Don't forget to send me a message, or review my book if you liked it. Or tell someone who hasn't read it and keep spreading the word. Also don't forget that if you want to discuss any book jump into my 'An Orange Book Club' group. Another glorious day at the moment. Enjoy.

11.01.2022 Getting our book week on. Chewy, Spiderman and Dusty from planes. It was also great to see a student dress up as a character from my first book Following the Leader. Stoked to see that. Love your books

09.01.2022 Great to see. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3604647076212764&id=210310072313165

09.01.2022 Captain Ramius (Sean Connery, the guy over my shoulder): Battle Stations! He also said: Let them sing. For Movember my battle station is simply spreading the word of good men's health to anyone who will listen. I also want to remind everyone that in good times and bad you can sing, or simply talk, with the ones cloest to you. If that is not possible reach out to others, approach a mo bro or seek professional help.... Everything is better than the alternative. And then hopefully, Captain Ramius : A great day comrades, we sail into history! If you would like to find out more about Movember, or support or donate, follow the link. Have a great week, enjoy my week two effort. https://movember.com/m/9970785?mc=1

07.01.2022 Congratulations to Collins Orange for turning 20 this week. I know I will be heading in on friday to wish them happy birthday, plus purchase a couple of books that I have had my eye on lately. Seems like the perfect time to go in and grab a copy or two of either of my books 'Following the Leader' or 'Kingdom of the Creek'. I know there are a couple of extras there waiting for you.

06.01.2022 To add to my earlier post. Well done Emus. That's a lot of mugs to be drinking juice from tonight.

05.01.2022 Fill your void, or entertain/focus your child, with my first book, 'Following the Leader'. There has been some great weekend sport lately, especially as seasons come to a close and finals are won and lost. But that also means that for a short transition period there is no sport on at the moment. Adding to this that it is also school holidays, the excitement may disappear quickly and boredom may set in. If you have a child who is striving to rethink their schooling in a leader...ship (SRC) role or may like to reflect on their schooling previous and current, or loves sport, this may be for you. Maybe you are a teacher and looking for a good text to help with pd outcomes and build a unit around while you enjoy your well earned 'holidays'? Perhaps a book about mateship and overcoming problems? Maybe you're just looking for something different and want to try a new Australian author? My suggestion is to read my book. Set in the Central West it follows the lives of school kids as they come to grips with leadership in school and what being a role model really means and what it should look like (and what it definitely shouldn't look like). Throw in a whole bunch of Rugby based sport, reflecting real life events including the highs and lows which follow it, and emotional moments taken from real life stories then you are bound to find something to like. It may even remind adults of days gone by, or, remind kids of days last week. A local bestseller and worth a look, grab yourself a copy or tell someone who might like it. If you live in Orange or near a Dymocks you can get copies at your local outlet. But for those who need help locating, below are all the links you need. Collins is your best bet but Booktopia and Amazon are great for those looking to buy and review. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/catalog/search https://www.amazon.com.au//d/06488385/ref=tmm_pap_title_0 https://www.booktopia.com.au/following//9780648838500.html My new book, Creek Crew: Kingdom of the Creek is also available. Check that out too. Like my page and share my posts. Enjoy your days.

05.01.2022 Happy mo, Cranky Mo. What face shows a struggle with mental health? One, the other, either, neither, both? It is easy to hide, easy to miss. Start a conversation, make a connection, be supportive. These are in easy on paper, also easily abandoned when busy. But they may save a life, or may help create a positive mindset. Still growing a mo for a few more days. If you would like to know more, donate or support, then follow the link.... I don't my effort has been that bad to be honest. https://movember.com/m/9970785?mc=40

05.01.2022 As I look out my window I am reminded about a time gone by. When a fantastic day like today merged with an environment to explore and play in can be more fun than devices, television or forced entertainment. If you have friends to do it with it becomes an awesome experience. When you use your imagination the possibilities are endless. I should be writing (and I still am) but I am too busy daydreaming and remembering the good times of my youth, spent in Orange locales with ma...tes. All of this is what my new book 'Creek Crew: Kingdom of the Creek' is about. If you can remember or would like your young reader to experience this, go out and grab yourself a copy and tell your friends to do the same, or at least like my page. Creek Crew Kingdom of the Creek is available now online at many retailers or signed in store at Collins Booksellers Orange, just follow the link. There is no better time to read it than now. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/p/teenage-creek-crew-

05.01.2022 Found in the libraries Sunday list. Once again great to see one of my books in someone else's bookshelf.

04.01.2022 It's a lovely start to my birthday. With over 800 followers, nearly that many people liking my author page, just short of a hundred copies sold in the two weeks it has been out, and a glorious sunny day. Don't forget to your copies for a sit down and relax this weekend. Signed copies are available of both my books from Collins Booksellers Orange. But only while they last, half are gone already. https://www.collinsbooksorange.com.au/catalog/search... Have a great weekend.

03.01.2022 For the month of November I am committing my author page to one message. Promoting positive mental and physical health by growing a moustsche for Movember. I feel naked and vulnerable without the hair on my face, but I suppose that is the point in the end. Sharing how we feel. I have been involved with Movember for 15 years in a variety of forms and have been able to raise funds and awareness in that time. In 2020 of course I am going again.... Why? Well why not? My reasons are my own, but basically I want people to talk to each other and reach out when they are hurting or troubled. The chat is definitely better than the alternative. I would also like to show others that it can happen anytime and is acceptable at any age to share. This year I know that funds and our own mental health are lower, so with that in mind I want to tell you to support the cause by looking after yourself first. Your own might be the life saved this year. I will promote the cause as best I can, but I am also going to make some small changes in November to help myself out. For those who want to support me the link is below https://movember.com/m/9970785?mc=40 and for those who want to support my team, or jump onboard if you are affiliated with Orange Public School, my team link is here too. https://movember.com/t/orange-public-school?mc=40

02.01.2022 Here is my dirty week 3 moustache photo. Sorry ladies I'm taken. All for a fantastic cause, promoting men's health and well-being. To support me in my movember campaign, or find out more, follow the link below.... https://movember.com/m/9970785?mc=40 Don't forget that I am good for a chat

02.01.2022 Showing my supporter hat today, sorry not sorry. Well done to Orange Emus u14s with their 2020 Premiership win earlier. They are all legends and have well and truly earned the chocolates this year (some of them even featured in my first book). Congratulations to all involved. Commiserations to their opponents, all players have to jump through hoops this year and all have gone above and beyond to enable such a quality competition. Fantastic effort by all. Fingers crossed for o...ther ages and grades today including Emus first grade as they take on cross town rivals in a local derby Grand Final. I'm excited. Go rugby. Go Emus. See more

02.01.2022 Love this. Got it as a gift yesterday. Supposed to symbolise the day when I write something so great, and it is acclaimed as such, and I can use the pen/quill to sign off on my best work. I love my stories, and there are bigger stories coming, but I am still small time. My hope is that one day masses of people will wait with enthusiasm for my next story. I'm not quite there yet, but I still appreciate all the support I am getting, all the positive feedback I receive, and I hope to see you all continue on this journey with me, and let others know along the way. Enjoy the sunshine. Onward into Spring.

02.01.2022 Ten years ago I was on a prac placement in Batemans Bay along with a close mate. Just before I was placed I got what, at the time, was some dire news. I was busy but I made myself busier and started jotting down several ideas for a story. At the completion of that prac I had uni holidays and set about writing the story I had planned, partly because I wanted to but mostly so it could help someone else. That first story became known as 'Iris'. An unpublished 300+ page fantasy a...dventure. Last year I decided to publish a story that I had written, simply because I wanted to and also because it was a story that I thought had to be told. I hoped that the following year, this year, I would have achieved the title of author. 10 years after I started, 'Following the Leader' came to fruition as my first of hopefully many books and a lifelong goal was achieved. Thanks to all those who have supported my endeavours to write in that time. I have loved every bit of it. Onwards and upwards.

01.01.2022 Buy or review. Following the Leader has sold several hundred copies already this year. The response has been overwhelming positive which is awesome for an author to hear. My first book is based on real events, suitable for all, inspired by real people.... If you have read it I would love for you to let me know what you think. If you can review it online I would be greatly appreciative. If you don't have it yet, grab a copy. Walk in to Collins Orange or go to the following websites of Amazon or Booktopia for the cheapest prices at the moment. Review from these sites as well. https://www.booktopia.com.au/following//9780648838500.html https://www.amazon.com.au//d/06488385/ref=tmm_pap_title_0

01.01.2022 One week in and not looking too bad. Doing it all for men's health. If you can donate to me or my team please follow the link below. If you want to learn more follow that same link. Support by liking, sharing or donating. Follow the cause by having a conversation when you are low or by inviting others to do so.... Have a great day. https://movember.com/m/9970785?mc=40

01.01.2022 Not in Orange and want to get a copy of Following the Leader? Amazon are doing cheap versions at the moment. Follow the link. I want you to support local, but I also really want you to get this book in your hands, or your kids hands.... https://www.amazon.com.au//d/06488385/ref=tmm_pap_title_0
