09.01.2022 What are we going to be teaching in the coaching sessions? What we teach is based largely on getting comfortable with the soccer ball but it also touches on other aspects of the game. We believe that the coaching process should; Make the game fun to practice and play... Develop individual and small group skills applicable anywhere on the field Educate coaches & players in the technical skills of the game Help players develop ball touch and control, coordination and flexibility Show players how to improve decision making and execution Teach players how to build fitness and a healthy lifestyle Encourage good sportsmanship and respect for all Help players develop self-esteem and self-confidence. We do this by taking a topic and dividing it into three parts. Warm up including skill repetition exercises. Easy, slow repetition to perfect the movements Skills in a game related environment. Graduated pressure by adding speed, complexity etc Training games to develop and improve the skill Small sided games with opponents trying to win the ball. The main topics we focus on are: 1 Ball Mastery Develops touch, control and confidence. As much as possible using both feet and their different surfaces. 2 Receiving and Passing Improving the precision and quality of the first touch. Also encourages creative and accurate passing. 3 1v1 Attack and Defense Skills used to keep possession and create space using feints, dribbles, changes of direction and movement. 4 Speed Improving mental and physical speed. With and without the ball, including reactions, decision making, acceleration and speed. 5 Finishing The technical abilities in front of the goal. Encourages creativity and risk-taking in the finishing area. 6 Group Attack Exercises and games that encourage small group play and especially counterattack. Each session is age specific and can be catered to individual skill levels.

09.01.2022 We are back! Starting on Saturday, Feb 3rd with a free session and sign-ups, at Morayfield Sports Centre. Register on the day or at www.dribblerz.net

08.01.2022 It's just about that time of season... we kickoff Wednesday! Still some places available so whether you've got a whole team or it's just you or your child wants... to play, get in touch now - 0450 883 369 To help celebrate the new season, we interview Bribie Island's own "Mr Soccer", Glenn Stevens... Where did you get your passion for soccer? Growing up in the UK in the 80’s meant that it was like a religion and there was so much passion for your team. Every Saturday we’d get all of our friends together, put our t-shirts and jackets down for goal posts and have a kickaround for a couple of hours. Then when we were tired we’d go home and watch the professionals on the TV. There were some great rivalries in the English league so once you were committed to a team you followed them through thick and thin. What's your primary philosophy when teaching kids soccer? First of all they must be having fun. Second they must be improving their technical skills. We do this by placing emphasis on drills that build in complexity as the children’s abilities increase. It’s about making sure the children progress while enjoying the process. What life skills do you think kids learn from soccer? Discipline, teamwork, focus, concentration and determination. They also learn to accept the challenge of constantly trying to improve themselves while at the same time showing true sportsmanship. it also teaches them that no matter if you win or lose you can learn something from each performance. Why do you think Bribie Indoor Soccer is the best place to learn soccer (for kids) and to play socially (for adults) It’s great for the kids because we have a structure that allows all ages to work together while improving speed, agility, strength, technical ability and teamwork. We also build confidence by structuring the teams so that teams are as equal as possible. This leads to fun, action packed games where mistakes are accepted and learning is improved.Adults enjoy the fitness side, and the social aspect with a high level of respect. We all have to go to work the next day so we don’t allow any over the top antics that may injure players. We have had players and teams that have been with us for many years. Whats the best thing about Bribie Indoor Soccer? It’s an all inclusive environment. Whether you have played for 10 years or are brand new to the sport, we make everyone feel welcome and challenge them to improve their skills and fitness in a caring, nurturing, respectful manner. Whats are most rewarding things about running Bribie Indoor Soccer? I get to impact the next generation of players and it doesn’t matter about your background. People from all walks of life join together for the good of the game.
