18.01.2022 Although this patient had some excess abdominal skin and fat, that was not her major problem. The key issue is the weakness in her abdominal wall with significant bulging of the abdomen. Even with an intensive training regimen it is sometimes impossible to regain strength in the abdomen because the central muscles have been pulled too far apart. In addition to the contour problem this loss of core strength can lead to back pain. I have been referred patients with ongoing back pain after spinal fusion that I have been able to relieve by repairing the abdominal wall muscles. This case shows the improvement in abdominal wall contour that can be achieved with repair of the disrupted abdominal wall muscles.

14.01.2022 Upper Eyelid Correction Also known as upper eyelid reduction, upper blepharoplasty is commonly performed by Dr Stradwick. It involves removal of excess skin from the upper eyelids and also excess fat if it is present. Compared with most other cosmetic procedures it offers a significant aesthetic improvement with the least downtime which is why it is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures. 12.01.2022 This lady has had smooth, round, full projection, 370cc implants placed under the pectoral muscle in a mega pocket. A mega pocket means a large pocket under the pectoral muscle so the implant moves around freely and simulates the movement of a natural breast. Standard photographs don't show everything. You can't see how the breast moves or how soft it is. Rock hard "bolt-ons" can look great in a photograph. In my opinion the best results not only look great but move naturally and feel soft. In this regard the mega pocket technique using smooth round implants is unparalleled. Unfortunately it is not appropriate for every patient.

11.01.2022 The main problem in tuberous breast is the shortage of skin between the nipple and the breast fold. A form stable teardrop implant is very useful for forcing the tight skin below the nipple to stretch. Form stable means the gel is firm so the implant will want to maintain its shape - it forces the breast to assume the shape of the implant. As the skin stretches the breast assumes a natural shape with a full lower pole. This cannot be done as well with soft (non form stable) implants - the breast will tend to deform the implant which is not what is needed.

10.01.2022 The American attitude towards cosmetic surgery is more liberal than in Australia. It's the home of the extreme makeover mentality which I personally don't believe in. Surgical intervention to make someone look like a completely different person is something I don't offer. Personally I don't want my patients to look like they have had an operation.

01.01.2022 This case is a malignant melanoma in front of womans ear. The initial mark was a Congenital Naevus i.e. birthmark. It is rare for these birthmarks to become malignant but it does happen.... The woman was told by several doctors that it posed no problem, even though it had changed, because it was something she was born with.
