This concert will feature music from my upcoming album for piano and string quartet recorded in Brazil! I have created fascinating new arrangements of much loved and known pieces from Latin American repertoire such as Libertango, Bésame Mucho, Mambo Influenciado, as well as some of my own compositions. 22.01.2022 I'm honoured to announce that with my recent promotion to Senior Lecturer, I will be the Programme Leader for Composition of our honourable University. The Sydn...ey Conservatorium has had a history of very fine leaders in this role and as such the expectations are high! I follow in the immediate footsteps of Dr Damien Ricketson, who I hold in very high esteem as a composer and human being. I have large shoes to fill and an overwhelming responsibility with regard to our staff and students, but one I am committing to without reservation or diffidence. See more

So proud of you and thanks for giving the European premiere of "...of magic and realism" for flute and marimba! I'm also indebted to the wonderful Duo Blockstix for commissioning, premiering and recording the original recorder and marimba version this work in Australia. Abrazo to you all!

18.01.2022 Tune in to ABC Classic FM today, Tuesday, at 1pm (Melbourne/Sydney time) to listen to our live concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre performed earlier this year! It was an epic sold-out concert delivered to an enthusiastic audience. It closes with the iconic Piazzolla Four Seasons of Buenos Aires with Stephen Cuttriss (bandoneon) and myself (piano) as guests. 13.01.2022 Dear Lovers of Tango, Salsa and Classical Music! I am stirring things up bringing the passion and dance rhythms of Latin American music to our concert halls! Together with The Metropolitan Orchestra conducted by the splendid Sarah-Grace Williams on Saturday 6 July at the ABC Centre (Sydney, sorry Melbourne friends) we are performing brand new and unique arrangements/compositions: 1. "Libertango" (Piazzolla meets Bach, arranged by me)... 2. "Navegar" (an original composition regularly performed by Orquesta La Luna Tango) 3. "Le Grand Tango" (Piazzolla, arr. Rojas), and 4. "La Grán Salsa" (my epic crazy response and tribute to Piazzolla's work) I am BUSTING with EXCITEMENT to be performing and sharing the music I grew up with, music that connects us viscerally with our very human sentiments and that brings us profound joy! 03.01.2022 Hi Friends, THANK YOU to all who participated in our Melbourne Digital Concert Hall event on Friday! This was highly eventful: a violin and viola string snapping within seconds of each other, the cello spike slipping, and having to speak a little longer while having replacing strings...haha :) but then we had an incredible amount of fun and many gorgeous moments.
