25.01.2022 Sadly Dromkeen will be postponing our LitFest and also our Sketchbook class with Alissa Duke until further notice. Our tearoom is still operating normal hours from Wednesday to Sunday. We are monitoring all Government advice and will keep our customers posted if anything changes.

12.01.2022 Dromkeen had a visit from some beautiful ladies today in preparation for their weaving workshop this Saturday at Dromkeen. The ladies are from the Gungwanhurr Collective in Arnhem Land and were at the Lost Trades Fair on the weekend. They will be guest artists at Dromkeen Homestead in Riddells Creek this Saturday. Participants will make either some earrings or a small bag using pandanus leaves. The class will be limited to 24 and participants will learn to make earrings or a small coiled basket using natural hand-dyed pandanas leaves. The Yolngu women will be travelling down from the Gunyangara Community and the Laynhapuy Homelands in North East Arnhem Land NT and will be sponsored by a local resident from the Macedon Ranges. 06.01.2022 Dromkeen's tearoom and gallery will be open tomorrow to welcome in the New Year. If you have young children we will be doing a story reading of "Kookoo Kookaburra" (by talented Gregg Dreise. Publisher: Magabala Books) at 2.00pm in the gallery. We will be talking all about "kindness" and also be doing a simple craft activity after the story. Adults please bring your face masks and of course your children:)

06.01.2022 Dromkeen will be closing it's tearoom and gallery until further notice in response to the Covid 19 outbreak. We want to ensure the health and well-being of all friends of Dromkeen. Recently we installed a beautiful exhibition by author/illustrator Mark Wilson, that was going to be featured at our Dromkeen LitFest on March 28th. So you don't miss out, I will be posting some photos of some of his beautiful illustrations to remind you to come and visit once we get through this ...difficult time. Some of Mark Wilson's books can still be purchased through the mail. I will post some of these on FB each day so if you are interested you can message Dromkeen and we will organise to post them out to you or if you live in the MacedonRanges we can deliver them to your door. The bad news is that due to unforseen circumstances the Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House has postponed the Teddy Bears Picnic on Saturday 23rd November until further notice. The good news is that Dromkeen will still be open to the public and there will be a teddy bear storytime in the gallery at 10.00am. This will be a free activity so bring your teddy along to the gallery to listen to some stories with Leanne and Bernadette.
