I'm sure many of you tuned into the live stream if you couldnt attend. What a show of skill and precision with the worlds best pilots. In 2nd place SungJu Park, 3rd place Alex Vanover and 4th Place the UK's own Luke Bannister! Also a great performance from Brett Collis in 6th place, Leo Whitfield in 7th place, Chris Knight in 11th place, Rob Saxton in 12th place, Matthew Evans in 17th place, Jon Smoky Rogers in 19th place, James Bowles in 20th place, Alfie Mitchell in 21st place and last but not least Adam Gooch in 24th! Nationals event on the 24th-25th August 2019 in Barkston Heath, Grantham. This is a great opportunity for drone racing pilots to qualify for the FAI World Championship that is being hosted in China at the end of the year. From June 26-30, the event will feature 6 simultaneously active mini quad flight lines, a wing course, and of course, an amazing nightlyu Tiny Whoop party and raceway. For the third year in a row, the team from TinyWhoop.com will be hauling a huge load of led course features out to Muncie from Colorado to build another spectacular course. We've been tasked with hosting the official nightly after parties (our specialty!) and we've got some amazing games planned using sparks, helium, strobes, and over a hundred balloon gate hats. 06.01.2022 What an EPIC 2 days of intense racing running almost 3000 laps on the iSeries Masters drone racing track with 24 of the best pilots from around the world. After... 11 Qualifying rounds we reduced the pilots to just 16. Followed by a triple elimination format where every 3 races we lost the bottom 4 pilots until we had our finalists. And what a final it was with the worlds best racing round the track at insane speeds. The final was points based and was 5 rounds. The winner cemeted his victory by winning 4 of those races so now we now have our new iSeries European Masters Champion! 03.01.2022 Saturday 8th February we saw the opening of the 2020 Micro Season with ‘Whooping Man’, held in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and hosted by Outer Heaven FPV and Drone... Racing Academy. A week of wet, wild and windy weather for the East Coast of Australia saw most outdoor events cancelled, and with that the desire to get some flying in we saw pilots attending from all over Sydney, with some Northern Beaches & Central Coast legends making also the trip in for the event. As a result we welcomed our newest addition to the Micro scene, Frenzy and welcomed back Evan who made his debut with us in our Christmas event in 2019, along with a great show from Team Quadikktion, Northern Beaches Crew, Rotor Coasters and of course Outer Heaven. Lastly with the biggest surprise visit was from Team #NotSponsored; Hollen 'lil' Wang, who has been MIA since the now infamous blow-up moment at the Aussie Open... Hollen it was great to see you brother you've been missed from the family. With a heavy investment in LED resources for what was due to be a great event, our track was assembled, lit and ready to rock a little after 6pm. The 15 pilots in attendance were promptly allocated channels via SmileyFPV for our LiveTime race timing and our official Outer Heaven YouTube LIVE Stream was set-up ready to go. With a single lap distance exceeding 70m, the 1s Micro Ducted quads & their respective pilots had some great opportunities to express their racing abilities on the course, with 3 levels of elevation, a ‘tip of the hat’ to a Sydney FPV fave The Rainbow Road, and new to this event being the Hobbyking Spiral, pilots were challenged not so much by a super technical lap but one that required great entry and exit speed from all elements and accuracy in a few to obtain the hottest laps for the night. Pilots had 3 practice laps under timing conditions to get the feel and then qualifying got underway. With Sugerkane attending on a loaner micro, he showed that it really doesn’t matter what you do as long as you turn up and have fun. Endoplazma having only collected his Beta65s Micro from Drone Racing Academy the night before, he was also running his race in brand new kicks and doing supremely well. Hot laps and some solid times were coming in thick and fast from GTR4N, Buzzchamp and Endoplazma from the middle cluster of pilots, and the lead group being hit out amongst #Hashbrown, TJ Boom, CGo, Jonesy and SteveK. Having really cemented himself as Whooping Royalty in the IGOW (International Game of Whoop) online events, SteveK’s weekly stick time and technical requirements proved a blessing for his racing accuracy, as FPVJonesy with his 2s micro while having a little more power and size was still outrun by the man that refuses to take second place. Finals saw all groups sorted into 3’s, allowing crystal clear video to be displayed on headsets and also our Live Stream, sadly this meant CGo was relegated to the second group alongside #Hashbrown and thus providing a great head-to-head ‘battle of the meteors’. With 3rd Place taken by TJ Boom, 2nd by FPV Jonesy and 1st SteveK our finals were run for the night and some solid cheers and jeers were had as the top group went back to back in a ‘Best 2 of 3’ format. Thanks to CrossFit Eora for the monthly micro location, TJ Boom from Rotor Coasters for the additional LED gates, Wade from NBC for the pizza run, SmileyFPV from Outer Heaven FPV for lugging all the broadcast and timing gear across Sydney and Drone Racing Academy for the rental micros, as a result of your support Whooping Man 2020 was a great event.
