25.01.2022 Little notes that make your day. Always grateful. #obstetricsandgynecology #johnflynnhospital

23.01.2022 It was Kate’s last day in our practice. She was an elective medical student from Griffith University. A few of you had the chance to meet her. Teaching always keeps doctors on their toes and I enjoy this part of my job a lot.

23.01.2022 Did you know vaginal candida (Yeast Infection) is an oestrogen dependent condition. Sometimes, topical treatments (such as canesten) just don’t kick it and you may need oral tablets. If you suffer from recurrent attacks long term treatment may be necessary. #vaginalhealth #gynaecology #obstetrics #womenofgoldcoast

22.01.2022 This seasons flu vaccine has finally arrived. It is recommended for pregnant women to protect them and their baby. Please contact our rooms and we can organise for you to be vaccinated. #fluvacccine

20.01.2022 I’m very excited about this new promotion. Working in private practice I wanted to make sure I kept in touch with why I decided to do medicine. So, after doing some thinking I came up with an idea...check out the next post! #obstetricsandgynecology #womenempowerment #helpingothers

18.01.2022 One of my patients made me this reversible face mask! It will definitely come handy for those procedure days. #obsgynae #gynaecology #johnflynnhospital #goldcoast

18.01.2022 The best caption I could get of our Zoom meeting about Corona Virus and pregnancy at JFPH. That’s Gaylene the NUM of maternity and her wonderful staff! There were 20 GP’s all the way from WA and Coff’s!! #zoommeeting #johnflynnmaternity

16.01.2022 Meet Baby Jason. His mum was my very first private obstetrics patient at John Flynn. I love the post natal visits especially as I get used to seeing the mums regularly towards the end of the pregnancy. #johnflynnhospital #obstetricsandgynecology

15.01.2022 Meet DaVinci the Robot! I’m in the training process to learn how to use the robot and have another minimally invasive tool under my tool belt! #minimallyinvasivesurgery #gynaecology #johnflynnhospital

15.01.2022 This app @qendoau was just released and I’ve been playing around it. I think this is a great tool for all my endometriosis and pelvic pain patients. You can download it on to your phone!! #endometriosisawareness #endometriosistoolbox

11.01.2022 First donations of $500 made to @friendswithdignity ! The rate of domestic violence has increased due to the Pandemic and we need to support other women and their families more then ever. As per my previous posts I am donating part of your visits to @friendswithdignity to support women are victims of DV. #womenhelpingwomen #domesticviolenceawareness #johnflynnhospital #obstetricsandgynecology

10.01.2022 I wanted to educate women on issues that are important for women both locally and globally. I wanted to encourage women to help other women. Therefore, a small token of money from my consulting (your money) will go on to support the charity @friendswithdignity which provides support to women affected by domestic violence. #domesticviolence #womenempowerment #obstetricsandgynecology

07.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamma’s out there. This is a picture of my mum and I in Alaska. She lives all the way across the globe in Canada but never misses a day to message me. The mum and child bond is truly an amazing one and I am blessed to have her as my mother . #mothersday #mothersdaybaby #obsgynae

06.01.2022 It’s not uncommon for women to ask me: Is my labia normal? All labia’s are different. Approximately 50% of women will have an ‘outtie’ where the labia minora (inner lip) is longer than the majora (outer lip)... Asymmetry is normal. Labia’s vary in colour from skin tone, red or even purple. Childbirth can have an impact on the way your labia looks but it’s important to ensure your repair was adequate and you don’t have any discomfort. The appearance of your labia will change with age. Always feel comfortable to talk to your doctor about any concerns. The website www.labialibrary.org.au is full of information to learn a bit more and become comfortable with yours!

04.01.2022 This is a photograph from my last visit in Fiji where I ran a perineal repair workshop with some of the local midwives and trainees! I have worked with many amazing midwives who have taught me a lot about what I know about childbirth and some wise words in the middle of night shifts. . Happy international midwives day. #midwife #johnflynnmaternity #obstetricsandgynecology

03.01.2022 So, I keep talking about the pelvic floor and physiotherapy! Thanks to Sarah from @listenupladies__ and @the.wellness.boutique for putting together some information about the why physiotherapy is important in pregnancy. #pelvicfloorexercises

02.01.2022 This is Joyce. She’s one of John Flynn Hospitals amazing midwives. She runs the antenatal program and calm birth classes . I think taking part in the calm birth program is a great way to help reduce anxiety and practice mindfullness and help prepare your birth no matter what mode of delivery you are having . It’s great to learn to learn to be centred no matter what what comes your way. It’s also just a relaxing way to spend some time with your partner . The... programs are now running by zoom and you can book directly by the following link or contact Joyce directly via email. https://calmbirth.com.au/educators-profile/?edid=29 [email protected] #calmbirth #midwives
