25.01.2022 THANKYOU INDIKA GALLAGE Cricket provides a unique opportunity for players to travel and play the game they love around the world. The Druids Cricket Club witnessed the perfect example of this when Indika Gallage joined our club in 2006 from Colombo, Sri Lanka. Before joining the Druids, Indi represented his nation in both Test and ODI cricket during the golden era of Sri Lankan cricket. He debuted alongside Tillakaratne Dilshan and played with World Class players including... Muttiah Muralitharan, Sanath Jayasuria and Kumar Sangakarra. Indi was controversially dropped after his last national outing where in an ODI he claimed 2 wickets for 40 runs of 9 overs against New Zealand. The reason behind his axing was never divulged however Sri Lankas loss was The Druids Cricket Clubs gain. After missing the first game of the season due to visa issues, Indi debuted for The Wizards in Round 2, 2006 against Hoppers Crossing. A world of expectation on the former test player was lived up to when he took 5-27 off 18 overs that game. Indi went on to claim 245 wickets and make 1600 runs in the purple and gold across 14 seasons with best figures of 8-20. Early in his journey, the club was forced to fix a hole Indi created in the practice nets due to his incredibly consistent pace, line and length. Indi was selected in the VTCA Team of the year several times, he represented our club in many finals series and is a dual premiership player for The Druids. Those fortunate enough to play alongside or watch Indi on the field will have fond memories that will last a lifetime. A loyal and passionate man who gave 100% in every game for the club, Indi stuck by the Wizards during both tough times and successful periods. Indi is now an Australian permanent resident and lives in the Western Suburbs with his young family. We look forward to seeing Indi around the club and wish him all the best for his new journey where he will captain East Keilor CC. The end of an era, and the beginning of a new chapter for both Indi and the Druids Cricket Club. Thank You Indika Gallage. Indika Gallage

17.01.2022 The Final Round of public feedback is now open for the West Footscray Community Facilities Plan. You can access the latest drawings and feedback survey via Councils Your City Your Voice website (click the link below). Please complete the survey (closing date is 10th August), provide your feedback and please continue to promote the good work of the Druids and reinforce to Council the need for the Club to be accommodated in these plans. 11.01.2022 Patience, discipline, resilience and mindfulness. These are all important life skills that are central to the game of cricket. On field, we demonstrate these life skills by adapting to challenging conditions, trying our best during contest and continuously bouncing back from adversity. Sometimes we may take for granted how valuable these mental skills are when we navigate through the obstacles and challenges that life throws at us, or how resilient we have become through the ...skills we have learnt playing cricket. The Druids Cricket Club Executive encourages the whole Druids Family to harness the unique qualities that we have developed through being involved with cricket to guide us through this lockdown period. Lets continue to check in and communicate with each other. Get in touch with a Druids teammate and say Gday.
