21.01.2022 For all pregnant women delivering at Hobart Private Hospital - THIS is the latest on visitors. Maternity patients are now able to have two nominated visitors plus a sibling of the baby to visit. The ‘nominated support person’ (e.g. partner) is considered one visitor, and the second person is the ‘nominated visitor’ who can visit with a sibling between 3 and 5 pm.... They will need to follow the same process as other nominated visitors to the hospital. The patient must provide details of the nominated support person and the nominated visitor. This will be checked at the admission COVID screening desk at front reception. Nominated visitors cannot be ‘swapped out’

05.01.2022 Friday night is takeaway night at our place, so earlier this evening I made the weekly migration to the local Bento. I made my order and waited. I looked around and saw couples and families seated at tables. Eating food. Socialising. Laughing. Enjoying themselves. My order arrived and I left. As I walked back to my car I filed past numerous takeaways, all filled with groups of people being together and enjoying themselves.... It struck me like a sledgehammer that we are so lucky here in Tasmania; so, so lucky. It's been weeks since Victorians have been able to do this and weeks before they will be able to. Victorians - stay strong. Hold the line. WE SEE YOU AND WE FEEL FOR YOU.
