18.01.2022 Supanova Cancels Its December Event In Sydney; Looks Towards 2021 We held out as long as we could, but for the first time in our 18 years of operation, it’s with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of this year’s Supanova in Sydney.... To say that we are disappointed would be an understatement. There was nothing we wanted more than to close out the year celebrating our love of all things fandom with you, our Supa-Fans. Unfortunately, despite the extra few weeks our December dates allowed us, restrictions in New South Wales have not been, nor are projected to be, lifted in a timeframe that would enable us to effectively plan and deliver the calibre of show our community deserves. While this closes the book on our in-person events for the year, this gives us all the more time to work on making our 2021 return something truly spectacular! Mark your calendars and join us next year on the following dates: Melbourne: 10-11 April 2021 Gold Coast: 17-18 April 2021 Sydney: 18-20 June 2021 Perth: 26-27 June 2021 Brisbane: 5-7 November 2021 Adelaide: 13-14 November 2021 Our dedicated team will also be working on some fun surprises to keep you entertained in the countdown to April, so, as always, keep an eye on our social media channels for all the latest news! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all of our fans, exhibitors and sponsors for your continued support in what has been a rollercoaster of a year for the events industry. Until next time! Supanova is a celebration of fandom, where the worlds of film and television, fantasy, comic books, anime, sci-fi, cartoons, books, gaming and collectables comes to life! There’s something for everyone, including ‘cosplay’ (costume-role play), fan clubs, musical performances, creative master classes, celebrity Q&As, wrestling, tournaments, competitions and an expo full of shopping possibilities.

13.01.2022 A very Happy 65th Birthday to the mighty Dallas Jones - past DWCA President, founder of Data Extract and the very definition of super-fan! In this milestone year marking 40 years of publication for Data Extract, let us all tip our hats to the man who started it all at the tender age of 25, all those years ago. Happy Birthday Dallas!!!

02.01.2022 Happy Fortieth Anniversary to Data Extract this month! It looks like the latest issue is hitting the post just in time for the party... This issue you can read about Christopher Eccleston's return to the role of the Doctor, an interview with Thomas Crawford on his Satellite 5 fan productions and go behind the scenes with Brand Manager Edward Russell on recreating the Beatles Abbey Road cover with Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and two Daleks. We also take part in a Whovian wedd...ing, count down the best honeymoon locations in the Whoniverse, hunt for Campsie's missing TARDIS library, discuss the conspiracy of The Curator with the Boffin, check out the Lockdown Season with UK correspondent Bel Bailey-Melouney, discover the origins of the Doctor's dark side in War of the Valeyard and launch the first part of the Jason Towers comic 'Old Sixie versus the Bridge of Doom', telling the true tale of how the DWCA forced Colin Baker to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. All that and much, much more, so if you aren't a current member of the DWCA make sure you subscribe today at http://dwca.org.au/products-page/membership/ to get yourself a copy and find out why after 40 years of publication, the fun is only just beginning!
