25.01.2022 It was a beautiful morning for a nice, relaxed stretch out for our OC1 session this morning. We love how our members are making use of all the extra sessions to build on their paddle fitness. 24.01.2022 DSA presented retiring Club Captain Brett Bartholomew with his leaving present yesterday morning. This piece of artwork byRachel Treacywas specially commissioned for Brett by our new Club Captain Kelly Kortlepel. 'Journey Ahead' by Rachel Treacy The painting on this paddle is a custom design to represent your story, your time with the club and journey ahead. The dragon was selected as the centre piece along with green in the circle to represent Nganyaywana country surroun...ding Armidale. The blue and yellow waves represent the club and I have done the blue dots all around to represent the water. The footprints across the paddle represents your journey with the club and your new path ahead. Cumberland City Council Fairfield City Council Strathfield Council Lane Cove Council Did you know that DSA is located in Rhodes and is probably your closest Dragon Boat Club? We train on the Parramatta River and in Homebush Bay. We have plenty of parking available plus toilets and a shower! We have our Covid-19 safety plan in place too. We are currently recruiting competitive paddlers for the upcoming season and are offering reduced membership fees to anyone wishing to join us this season: Adults $280 + $100 DBNSW fee Under 24 $150 + $100 DBNSW fee Juniors $115 + $50 DBNSW fee All Fees include race fees for regatta's (excl Nationals) In addition to dragon boat training sessions we also offer training on our 5 x OC1s, 4 x OC6s and Strength & Conditioning land sessions. If you’d like to give us a whirl please drop us a message and we’d be more than happy to welcome you to our paddle family! 14.01.2022 Today, most of our Senior B crew should be heading off to France for the Club Crew World Cup. However, Covid travel restrictions and the current situation world wide has unfortunately put a stop to that. Our crew were(and still are) looking mighty strong and an extremely competitive crew to take on the world's best club crews! Whilst we were disappointed that IDBF cancelled the Regatta, we completely understand and support the decision and we are glad that the decision wa...s made early.
