17.01.2022 ********BIG DESERT RIDE CANCELLED********* Unfortunately the Rona Restrictions aren't going the way we would have liked, and Victoria especially has gone backwards in the past few days. This is current DHHS advice that applies to us: - Outdoor sport can have up to 20 participants. But........ - Public gatherings are limited to 10 people in a public place. - You should avoid carrying passengers in your car. - You can stay at holiday accommodation with shared bathrooms and kitchens but they need to be cleaned twice a day. (And this probably assumes you are from the same household). So we could chase loopholes all day, but at the end of the day if a case is traced back to this event Dan will be a bit dissapointed. We will try again next year. See Brad for refunds. Cheers Ian (Chook) See more

15.01.2022 3 days to go before we're locked down again. If you ride, ride safe. If you're gunna chuck a sickie in the next 3 days to ride, call cookie. Cheers Ian (Chook) *********************************************************************** Bit of an update on the Big Desert Weekend (July 18th and 19th , only 7 weeks away). There is no intention to cancel it at this stage but its anyones guess as to how all this restriction lifting is going to end up. The accomodation is still open and booking hasn't changed. 2 rooms of 5 people each with shared bathroom, and a shared kitchen, which is well outside the current social distancing guidelines but they may all change by then. We do have the option of booking more rooms to spread people out but cost goes up (twin share room $60 each, 4 or 5 to a room about $35ea) Vic govt are announcing restriction easing from June 1st and more on June 22nd so until then we wont know much more. So can I get some firmer numbers in the "going" list as opposed to the "interested" list (assuming travel restriction in Vic are lifted which is what they are promising) and comment any concerns about sharing bathrooms and kitchens (without picking on Matt). Link here to the "event" if it works: https://www.facebook.com/events/2556748404590526?acontext=%7B%22source%22%3A5%2C%22action_history%22%3A[%7B%22surface%22%3A%22page%22%2C%22mechanism%22%3A%22main_list%22%2C%22extra_data%22%3A%22%5C%22[]%5C%22%22%7D]%2C%22has_source%22%3Atrue%7D

Rec reg and licence required and we only ride where we can. No dunes or beach....
