25.01.2022 Dear Members URGENT NOTICE EDUCATION EVENTS As we are all aware, the current DOH guidelines in place surrounding COVID - 19 outbreak has strongly recommended that non-essential group gatherings are to be postponed etc... We do hope that you as healthcare workers and members, fully understand that NSW DSNA support this move, and will postpone the following events:- * Nepean Education Evening - new date TBA * John Hunter Hospital - Postponed to Saturday 17th October, 2020 * NSW DSNA Navigating the pathway Conference - in current discussions with Swissotel regarding possible date change TBA To those who have registered, we will attend to any refunds and we will notify you with new dates to Re- Register. 22.01.2022 To all our members and followers, We truly hope you are all safe during this COVID 19 pandemic. It is a time of anxiety regarding our profession, family, colleagues and friends. There are inundations of information, financial concerns and social restrictions which will make 2020 a "New way of normal" for all of us.... With this on mind, sadly, however we think wisely, NSW DSNA have decided to cancel our planned "Navigating the pathway" conference in August 2020. We are in the process of negotiating a NEW date ... hopefully in March 2021. We feel by doing this, we can all recuperate and have no pressure. 18.01.2022 Sharing post:- Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation In loving memory, Dr Catherine Hamlin AC, 1924 - 2020 It is with great sadness that we are writing this post. Dr Catherine Hamlin, co-founder of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, passed away peacefully at her home on the grounds of the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia on Wednesday March 18th, 2020. She was 96 years old.... It is a very sad time for those who knew Catherine her family, her patients, her colleagues and her thousands of supporters around the world. In this time of sorrow, we reflect upon her life and celebrate it for what it was: a gift to some of the worlds most vulnerable women. Catherine was always grateful to those who supported her dream of eradicating obstetric fistula in Ethiopia. Thank you for being part of our community. Without you, Catherines incredible lifes work would not have been possible.
