24.01.2022 The owner of this Volvo XC60 had noticed a 'pinging' noise while they were driving. This pinging was pre-ignition happening inside the cylinder, usually caused by either the ignition timing or how the cylinder ignites This vehichle has a pre-determined ignition point which isn't adjustable, so we pulled out the spark plugs to inspect and determine the fault. The spark plugs were heavily worn, with 15,000kms to go before they needed to be changed with the logbook. So we cha...nged out all of the spark plugs to eliminate one of the potential reasons for pre-ignition, and the customer will continue to keep an ear out for further noises If something about your car just doesn't feel right, it is always safest to get it checked. 05.01.2022 This week we gave this Toyota Yaris its six monthly minor service. As part of a minor service we check and clean the rear brake shoes. As you can see in this picture this is only 6 months (10,000kms) worth of brake dust build up. If not cleaned regularly the inside surface of the drum becomes scored and uneven wear happens.
