19.01.2022 Important Information for DSODE families re: School Drive Subsidy or Private Vehicle Conveyancing DSODE families that are registered with Transport NSW for the School Drive Subsidy or Private Vehicle Conveyancing, will need to contact Transport NSW over the holiday break. Transport NSW would like all applications and family details updated to make sure that all our DSODE families are still currently registered with Transport NSW and are eligible to receive this service. If you do not contact Transport NSW to update your information you may not be eligible claim for your travel within semester one and two for 2020. 19.01.2022 Whilst our HSC students are busy completing their Trial exams, our Year 11 students are also working hard to complete their course work ahead of their Exit Exams in Week 9. During their study of the First Aid option topic in Term 3, Year 11 PDHPE students will be learning how to save a life and provide assistance to the injured and ill by completing their First Aid Certificates. Students will complete theory modules online and complete their practical assessment remotely due to current COVID restrictions. Study guides for Preliminary PDHPE & CAFS have been sent to students, keep an eye on the mail for these!

18.01.2022 Year 8 student Fabien has created a series of characters using Paint 3D. In his story these characters belong to the Animal Guardian Squad and their objective is to save animals and fight villains! Here are a few of the characters. Good job Fabien!

18.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 12 Music 1 student Tom for being nominated for ENCORE. ENCORE is a program of outstanding performances and compositions by students from the HSC Music examinations. Tom performed 4 pieces on flute for his music HSC performance exam. ... His teacher Lenore Braithwaite said Tom has worked extremely hard throughout this difficult year and met all challenges thrown at him. We are extremely proud of his hard work. This is an amazing achievement, well done Tom.

17.01.2022 Georgia, Millie and Claire attended a Yr 12 Biology workshop at DSoDE on Infectious Disease. They simulated the transmission of a disease during an epidemic and discovered the importance of correct handwashing techniques(using a special solution and ultraviolet light) to help reduce the spread of disease. 3-D models were used to demonstrate the processes involved in the innate and adaptive immune systems in the human body.

14.01.2022 Hello DSODE! Unfortunately due to the ongoing restrictions regarding overnight school camps and excursions, we cannot hold our onsite Residentials for Year 7-12 as planned in Term 3. We're just as disappointed as you are!! As an alternative, we are holding another Virtual Residential in Week 7 of Term 3 - Spring Theory! If you're interested in 3D printing, like building and making things or you would like to gain some nationally recognised qualifications to add to your resume, then you will love what's on offer in Week 7! Students in Year 7-12 are asked to register their interest in participating with their Student Adviser. We're looking forward to 'seeing' you online in Week 7! 14.01.2022 We've had a very busy morning here at DSODE with the removal of two demountables in preparation for the new buildings!

13.01.2022 Congratulations to our Year 12 Music 1 student Jorja Dalton for getting through to Phase 2 of the Talent Development Project. The TDP helps develop and cultivate the extraordinary musical talent of students. Every year up to 80 public school students from around New South Wales are selected to take part in this unique program. ... Students participate in monthly master class workshops, conducted by industry experts throughout the year. Numbers are reduced each phase until only those ready to begin a career in show business remain. Her teacher Lenore Braithwaite says, Jorja is a wonderful hard working student and an extremely talented vocalist who deserves this fantastic opportunity. She will gain invaluable experience being able to work with professionals in the entertainment industry who will give her guidance and advice. It has been very rewarding seeing her grow as a musician throughout the last two years at DSODE. We wish Jorja all the very best for this phase and look forward to seeing her success in the future.
