24.01.2022 I know these Covid-19 times have been tough for some - though one major lesson I have learned in this lifetime is a tough life creates tough contenders. What have you personally learned from this time? Can you share your lesson for others to learn?

24.01.2022 A LITTLE TIP ABOUT BIG CONFIDENCE. Back in 2004, I did all the training I could do in NLP - I fell in love with it - and fell in love with my new life. Though I learned something that was going to change my life for good.... "CONFIDENCE comes when you focus on helping others." That was a huge awakening for me because for most of my life I was incredibly self-focused, self-obsessed, self, self, self. No wonder I was depressed! I was too self-focused. Then on learning NLP, for the first time in all my life, I started focusing on helping other people with their problems - it was no longer about me. Weirdly, it was so liberating. Freeing! No longer did I have to worry about myself. Instead, I worried about others - but because their problems weren't mine - I never worried at all. I just got on with the job at hand. When I went to a function, instead of feeling nervous wondering if I was going to say the 'right thing' or did I look good. I just focused on finding out about other people in the room. Where did they start their humble beginnings? What was their greatest challenge? And could I help them with that? Sure, I made sure my bald head was shiny. Sure! I brushed my teeth and looked my best. But I stopped caring about what other people think of me. And working in the world of coaching and training - I realised how BIG a problem that was for millions of people. So in summary... If you want to help yourself in the BIGGEST way possible today... Find someone with the BIGGEST problem - and help them solve it. That's why the world is a special place. Because when we aim to make it really special - we bring out our own specialness and give it to others. I hope this helps someone today

20.01.2022 I don't know about you, but being around people who don't have coaches can be more challenging than being around those who do. For a start, I find people who have a great coach seem to be more educated about being "response-able" and are far more conscious of their words and behaviours. Also, I find that people with coaches are less cranky and less apt to blame.... All around, I think the world gets delightfully better with more coaches and more people being coached.

01.01.2022 If you are not fulfilled in your career - this could be the answer...(Yes. It's at the end of course). But here's the backstory... I recently read a 2018 Gallup poll that found that "66% of employees worldwide are either not engaged or are actively disengaged in their job. But despite this disengagement, most employees don’t report that they hate their jobs. More often, they lack passion for their roles and don’t care enough to innovate, create, or put anything more into thei...r jobs than the bare minimum." That is in my view, the slowest, pain-staking journey to the pits of Hell. That's watching paint dry for 1920 hours a year. If you bring little to your career, the outcome is typically obvious... You will get little from your career, perhaps even life. My theory is that I believe that our education system is an 'outside-in' model. Educators feed us content, without ever asking us - "What's really important to you?" In other words, a values elicitation (for those who have ventured into Master NLP Practitioner training, you'll know this well). While I cannot blame educators, I question the model. Does it need upgrading? Revising? The model is also based on a premise of 'getting it right' when those who coach and teach know, to get off Boring Road, we need to give things a go. Fail. Get things wrong in order to find our happy place. Boy! the number of people that I coach who are fed up with their jobs - well. I have no more fingers to count them on. So I truly believe in this statistic. I would even suggest, it's higher than 66%. I was teaching a class last night and I suggested that if I were a teacher in a public school, I would probably follow John Keating; Robin's Williams character in "Deat Poets Society." I would start the year by goading the class to do all they could to get things wrong. To fail. To fall. To muck-up and miss the mark. To truly feel the true essence of courage flow through their veins. If you haven't worked out what your values are go back to your NLP Master Practitioner content - or learn NLP! Find out what your key drivers are. Discover your top ten values and challenge you to live them. Because if you don't... Your 2021 will likely be no different to your 2020. Go on! Be courageous!
