23.01.2022 I had an informative chat with Council officers a few weeks ago. If the existing garage is upgraded by recladding putting a concrete floor in and toilet, shower and kitchen sink then it will not be regarded as being liveable and have to meet all the building requirements of a dwelling as long as it cant be locked up ie one side being open. That side I would have open would be the side facing the sanctuary. A chain fence to stop vandals getting in would be ok. As long as I d...on't start advertising to the public then the only approval required by the Council would be for the sanitation. The sanitation officer said I could get a sealed unit which just plugs into the water for about $2K second hand rather than spend $15-$20K on a septic system installed. I have approached the Adelaide Bird Sanctuary manager to see if they will support my application to set up a caravan park. He told me the management plan is still being finalised but he has good idea of what is being envisaged in the different areas. I spoke to a senior planner for DPTI at their Royal Adelaide show stand. By the end of next year the new planning system should have been implemented for that area which means no third party appeals, no public consultation required other than a public notice on the front fence and quicker and cheaper decisions for non complying development applications.

22.01.2022 So the new zoning rules has come out and now a caravan park would be complying subject to environmental criteria rather than non complying. So as well as having the blocks up for sale I am pursuing the caravan park/eco tourism park option. The new planning system is coming in Hooray. Stand up to the NIMBYS who think its okay to move into an area and do what they want to do but then object if someone else comes in after them.... Hyprocrites.

22.01.2022 Bolivar recycled water will be going out to Two Wells. Information sessions are being held in Lower Light and Dublin in a few weeks, I will post on here when I have the dates, so that SA Water can guage interest in extending out to those locations. Recycled water is not that nutritious for watering livestock it appears but still at approx. 1/3 the price of mains water it is useful for feedlots and the livestock exchange plus you have greenhouse operations now on Dublin Road and Carslake road.

18.01.2022 Dad is purebred and Mum is half Jack Russell and half possibly fox terrier according to DNA test. Pics of parents available if required.

16.01.2022 Fence dividing what remains of the block, 140 acres, and what is now part of the adelaide bird sanctuary is now complete. Park rangers actively patrolling on their side. I am making enquiries with Council about turning garage on block which has power and water connected into a shelter with sanitation facilites so that people can camp. Garage is in bad state of repair. Need to put in concrete floor and open garage up to look backwards into the Bird Sanctuary, the fence line is only a few metres further back.

16.01.2022 Jack Russell puppies are on their way. Birth date is expected late December/ early January. Parents have been genetically tested prior. Father is a pure bred Jack Russell long hair. Mother is a short hair jack Russell crossed with most likely terrier. I will post pictures of parents shortly and puppies when born.

16.01.2022 Having a crazy idea. Water level is only 1.8m or so from the surface and very salty water. What about digging out a channel? for paid salt mediation or a circuit for boat racing or a deeper hole to swim in. Might need a water licence though.

15.01.2022 Having taken a six month break to recover from the dramas and unexpected hurdles faced right to the end in getting the subdivision through I am now starting work on progressing caravan park proposal. 14.01.2022 Rabbits are back on the block, new virus must not be working too well.

13.01.2022 Shooters bagged a fox, three quails and a rabbit the other night. New internal boundary fencing was supposed to be installed by the end of the month but that doesn't look like happening by then. SA Water is talking to some prospects at Lower light for the Bolivar Water which if they sign up should mean it will make it out to Dublin, has to be finalised within a few months.

13.01.2022 I rang up SA Water re bolivar water extension to Dublin and spoke to the relevant manager. When I rang him in September Dublin wasnt even in the picture, now it definitely it is. They have had strong expressions of interest from around the area some of it commercial in confidence and he will get back to me in January. I presume the feedlots and/or livestock exchange. i had contacted livestock sa in September about this as the Bolivar water is nutritious for animals as well. I have played a part in this, not sure how minor.

02.01.2022 Mary is a good lateral thinker. We were trying to slide the second row of the Peugoet seats forward after having laid their backs down to get under them. There was a handle under the seat I couldn't move it. Put the seat backs back up she said. I did and I heard a click as the handle under the seat became operational to slide the seat.
