So we have decided the first hour of the week is going to be dedicated to them!... Mondays from 8am - 9am at The Duke is now Pensioner Hour $15 cuts! 20.01.2022 A lot of people wonder how we came up with the name The Duke on Queen St.. well its simple we got the name from our founder Keith Lipke who pioneered this barbershop in 1956, we call him the Duke because he is Sunshine Coast royalty, especially walking around the streets of Nambour. #dukeonqueenst

15.01.2022 Yesterday we celebrated our 64th birthday! We decided we wanted to give back to the community and man did you guys show up in numbers! Yesterday with all social distancing measures observed limiting our ability to have a full team on we still managed to give away 77 FREE hair cuts!!... We were so touched by the stories of many who had gone with out cutting their hair or their childrens hair simply because it was an expense they couldnt afford after losing their job from Covid-19. We sincerely thank our customers new and old for their patience yesterday as at times the wait was long! We hope our little bit of generosity has inspired some people along the way, Stay safe friends & be kind to one another!

We have received many messages to see if we would still be open and if we could cut our loyal customers hair this week which we can confirm we will. The health and well being of our staff is most important right now which is why we have given our staff the flexibility and option to reduce hours if so desired. Our eldest barber John is on full gifted paid leave.... 14.01.2022 At about 11:20am this morning Keith Upward (pictured) was busking in the centre of Nambour, sadly a couple of young guys ran up from behind and stole Keith’s takings for the day. Keith was telling me it was the most he had gotten in a long time and understandably was very shaken, he did assure me if he was a couple years younger he could of kept up pace with them. As a local business owner in Nambour it is extremely disappointing to see this behaviour take place. To fight aga...inst this sort of culture I believe it’s important to show generosity and support where we can as a community, because we can stand up against this behaviour and see a change in our town. The Duke has already made a donation covering Keith’s day’s takings that was stolen (and freshened him up with a nice little trim!) however if you would like to support Keith we will be stocking his CD’s in store for the next couple of weeks, if you would like to buy one or make a donation to support Keith they are $15 each, let’s support Keith so we can continue to see him bringing some lively tunes in the heart of our beautiful town. All money collected will go straight to Keith. Together we can make a positive change in our town. Dan

14.01.2022 Our barbershop is still open, a reminder of our proactive measures we have in place. 1. We have limited the amount of people allowed inside at any one time to 6 people, including staff. 2. We have an outdoor seated waiting area instead of inside.... 3. Every chair gets sanitised after every client 4. Hair cuts and time inside the shop as per the PMs rules will be limited to 30mins maximum but will be safely below that limit. 5. Staff will constantly clean equipment, wash hands and deep clean everything as they go. Thank you for supporting our family as we hope to continue to support yours, Much love, Dan
