24.01.2022 This 21 second video is of us driving one of our mares (Sugar) in our Furphy today - and her first time in dray harness. The greenery after last week's rain is lovely.

21.01.2022 We hooked up 4 abreast this evening and they started and drove off at a nice walk from the word 'go', which is how we like them! It was the first time Jess has been in harness since the Cobb & Co run at Surat in August 2019. All four are Duneske horses - Pearl, Jess, Ranger and Beauty. Hannah has them going really well. This 15 second video shows the gist of it.

21.01.2022 It has been a pleasure working with Sparky, looking forward to seeing his journey continue with Reg & Sharron

19.01.2022 Who's having these 'head shot' promotional horsey challenges? This was Sugar in the Furphy watercart this afternoon, having a quick look back at Ranger & Nara catching up in the lorry about 2km from home. #drop_your_beautiful_horse_head_challenge

19.01.2022 This is the nicest still pic from today, taken closer to sunset, 20 minutes after that short video, of Ranger and Jade, with Hannah, getting a bit of practise in in advance of our November CCHS beginners' training day.

19.01.2022 Time to earn your keep (a 19 second video of some of our clydies keen to be caught and enjoy the day!)

17.01.2022 Flashback to 2012... reaping and binding a little crop off french millet at Macallister, just west of Dalby. They wanted it cut in early May, for a threshing demo at the Dalby museum later in May. The horses had never done it before but were great- totally unfit, but terrific! Thanks to Mick Ryan, Barry Muller & Andy S-K for help.

16.01.2022 It's People's Day today at the Virtual Ekka 2020... and perhaps time to reflect on some of our past entries in harness at Brisbane Royal. This collage covers ...four neat decades in the left column: 1989, 1999, 2009 and 2019, with a few miscellaneous pics at the top and right. We exhibited a pair there in harness in 1987, and a team of four for most of the 1990s. We also showed two singles in the early 90s - a spring cart and a pie cart, but this collage actually includes every arrangement we've em shown- single, pair, unicorn, four and team of six, and from slide, to wheels - it's been an adventure! We'd also be lost without the help we've had from many great friends over the years.

16.01.2022 Another little video of most of the herd taken this morning, Tuesday the first of Spring 2020! This video is one and a half minutes to the end.

13.01.2022 This 15 second video is of three clydie mares that were put together for their first time three-abreast today, to give them a workout in readiness for the up...coming beginners driving training day we will be having in just under 3 week's time. Support and response has been tremendous, and all places are already booked out.

13.01.2022 A 20 second video of the driver's view of just starting out working Duneske Flash Beauty, Nara, Ranger and Pearl today, (24 June '20) four-abreast for their first time. Hannah is driving in our top paddock- a slow turn to the offside. They handled sharp turns and fanning well, 45 minutes later on.

13.01.2022 Working Sparky, Opal and Bert, in advance of the training day this weekend.

12.01.2022 A selection of lovely photos taken on the day by some fantastic photographers! - Most of which have already been uploaded to the CCHS page.

11.01.2022 Putting Sugar in the Furphy for her first time today. She went well. Theres a 20 second video to accompany this pic that we'll upload shortly.

11.01.2022 Karen Travers and Nicky came out today to learn some of the variations in pair harness, and so here we have a mother-and-daughter driving mother-and-daughter Jess and Nara, while their dogs join in the journey. Jess & Nara haven't ever been paired-up before, but settled in to the task well.

10.01.2022 A relaxing ride down the gully to check water troughs, turned into a pied-piper single file trip as the youngsters decided to follow us back home. The little rain last week has started to green things up beautifully!

09.01.2022 Hannah driving Beauty, Jade and Jess today. They're perfectly in step, in this quick snap I grabbed as they went past!

08.01.2022 The postman today delivered an unexpected huge package all nurtured in bubblewrap and shavings and packing tape, and then more of the same, and a bit more for luck. It was a ten minute discovery process and a test of patience freeing the precious cargo from all its swaddling! Its incredible how well Maia captured Flash's likeness in this lovely watercolour, and we're overwhelmed by such a lovely gift from the Watson family- Greg, Rosie, Ella, Tom and Em. WOW! It's just bea...utiful! Totally unexpected! Thank you so much! :) (If anyone is interested, the painter's FB page is ArtByMaia https://www.facebook.com/artbymaiakuchava/ )

08.01.2022 We had a terrific day to day in the hills around Nutgrove, when Reg brought Sparky out, Neil brought Bert & Opal out, and Hannah put Daisy in the jogger, and we went for a 2-and-a-half hour pleasure drive along the backroads, with the farm dogs as traffic and wallaby lookout sentries.

08.01.2022 Well... 'normally' we'd be down at the Ekka today taking four or so clydies in for the farriers for their shoeing competition. It'd be about the 28th year we've supported the farriers in this way. Instead, we got our Ekka fix today at home, worming all the horses and then hoof-trimming six! Ugh! ;) and then working two of them... :) Also we said bye to Mo, who was collected to head off to Shepparton, Vic. He'd never been on a horse float, but loaded without any hesitation.

08.01.2022 Some of our mares this morning enjoying a lovely balmy day...

08.01.2022 12 clydies were caught today. 3 youngsters to hoof trim. 4 older ones to ride, and the rest to get a bit of work in advance of the CCHS Qld Branch beginners' driving training day on 21st Nov. at Nutgrove, just north of Oakey, Qld. Here are Sarah, Hannah and Merc about to cool off with a shady trail ride on Beauty, Pearl and Sugar, with the dogs just milling around.

08.01.2022 Not quite a horsey pic, but what a difference - (or is it what a similarity ?) that 27 years makes, with Hannah here aged 2, holding the shafts of a little goat cart I did some work on in 1993, and Hannah getting her breaking-in gig out today, about to put Ranger in shafts!

07.01.2022 Working Jade and Sparky in pairs. Today is the first time in 18 months that Sparky has been in pairs- he's not used to being allowed to share the load a bit, but they went well together.

07.01.2022 Time for a bit of humour now the Qld/NSW border bubble has shifted down to encompass only Sydney. (And as someone else said, imagine if Thelwell and Jolliffe had worked together- wouldn't that have been a treat!)

07.01.2022 We're having a CCHS beginners' training day here on 21st Nov, and Hannah has been working most of our horses in assorted pairs, to give them varying exercises before the day. Here's a 23 second video of Ranger and Jade, harnessed for the first time on sides they're not used to, pulling a slide.

05.01.2022 Sarjon Park Lleyton, our stallion, just turned 20 years old. This 25 second video shows him trotting up for a feed, still moving close-behind (as he should), and still very clean-legged and agile for his age. Not superfat at the moment, but his joints creak a bit more when he carries more weight at this age, so for his own health, he's a bit lean!

04.01.2022 Heatherbelle left for her new home today, we wish Fiona all the best with her

04.01.2022 It's a shame Covid-19 caused the cancellation of this year's Brisbane Ekka, so in memory, here is a snippet of past Ekka Blessings of the Plough ceremonies Duneske clydies have been involved with. :)

03.01.2022 ...and the hind view of the team of four today - with the all-important farm dog Beanie riding shotgun beside Hannah, while the other dogs all ran along .

03.01.2022 Here's a 23 second video of us out working Carseldine Opal and Bert today, with Neil Hall in the rubber-tyred lorry, and giving Daisy the TB an outing in the jogger too - about 10 miles of back roads, all up. They did well, and didn't even think about baulking on any of the steep pinches in the road. The trip was also to test and sort out the fit of a collection of Canadian harness Hannah recently bought.

03.01.2022 A 30 second video of us coming home from an hour's drive at midday today (24th June 2020). It was Pearl, Ranger, Nara and Beauty's first time driven four abreast. Lauren Booth is driving the team here.

01.01.2022 This 23-second video is of Hannah giving our new 'Toyota' slide its first test workout, driving Ranger & Jade today.
